comment on [Country] DE — Apotheke pricing, Rezept process, what off-label actually costs in c/glp1eu · 11 points · 3 days ago

Published reimbursement criteria exist in most member states and are usually available in the national language. They are the authoritative answer to eligibility questions that this board can only guess at.

Does injection-site soreness follow the day after the shot, or is it spread across the week?

Push back: "gentler than sema" is a population statement. Plenty of people on this board have the opposite experience and they are not doing it wrong.

comment on [Trial Data] SURMOUNT-4 withdrawal arm is the scariest chart in this space in c/tirzepatide · 22 points · 19 days ago

Research-use-only material is not approved for human use. Anything in this thread about how a research vial "should" titrate is a discussion about chemistry, not a plan.

the appetite effect is blunter than sema, in a good way, most weeks

It is a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist, and the GIP arm is the part that has no equivalent in the semaglutide threads.

Agreed, with one qualifier: that is the mean of the top arm and the spread around it was enormous.

Pen or vial?

Agree. The GIP component is the interesting half and it barely gets discussed outside c/glp1science.

This. The published reimbursement criteria are the document to read, and most member states do publish them.

Storage conditions came back specific rather than generic when I asked.

bastian_aalto is right that a purity figure without a method is not comparable to one with a method.

comment on incretin: what the trials say vs what this community says in c/glp1science · 42 points · 2 months ago

GIP receptor biology is genuinely unsettled — there is a live argument about agonism versus antagonism at the receptor — and the clinical results are robust regardless, which is an uncomfortable and interesting position.

2.5mg is a four-week starting dose, not a maintenance dose. Worth being precise since people search these threads.

This is the rule for anything unusual. Identity before anything else.

Came off sema and onto tirz with a two-week gap. The first month was flat and I assumed I had made a mistake. Month two it moved.

comment on Zepbound — my 8-week log, condensed into one table in c/tirzepatide · 34 points · 3 months ago

Vials and pens carry the same molecule; what differs is fill volume, device tolerance and whether you are doing your own arithmetic. Neither is inherently more accurate.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify pharmacology in c/glp1science · 14 points · 3 months ago

Cosigning on GIP. The genuinely interesting thing is that the biology is not settled and the clinical result is nonetheless robust.

zepbound and mounjaro are the same compound with different labels

That percentage is body weight change, not body fat. Different measurement, and the distinction gets lost every time.

Pen or vial? The step sizes available differ and it changes this answer.

permalink

Supply notices are issued nationally. A notice in one member state does not imply availability problems in another, even for the same product.

comment on switched from 5mg to 15mg and constipation got better, not worse in c/tirzepatide · 0 points · 8 months ago

12kg over 46 weeks, never went past 10mg, and reflux stayed mild the whole way.

This. The step interval is a floor, and reading it as a timetable is the most expensive mistake in the thread.

Not convinced — cross-border prescription recognition is narrower than you are describing and the exceptions matter.

permalink

comment on [PSA] gastric emptying is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/glp1science · 8 points · 9 months ago

Tolerance to the gastric effect develops with continued exposure while the appetite effect largely persists. That single fact explains most of the "it settles but it still works" pattern the side-effect board reports.

comment on [Lab] 8th independent test on QST — 98.6% on a claimed 98.5%, and the trend is the interesting part in c/tirzepatide · 33 points · 9 months ago

I would separate the two claims. That the GIP arm exists is uncontroversial; that it explains your sulphur burps pattern is a guess.

swirl_dont_shake is right that the two molecules are not interchangeable. There is no published conversion and the ones circulating are invented.
