Ordered under a name that turned out to cover two different molecules. Nobody’s fault but mine for not asking.
Asked for identity confirmation on an unusual line and got a mass spectrum with the theoretical mass alongside. That is the answer I now look for everywhere.
Research-use-only material is not approved for human use. In this catalogue that covers essentially everything, which is why the board discusses material and analytics rather than outcomes.

Adding the practical question — stocked or made to order, and what is the lead time.
Which exact molecule? That name covers more than one.
Naming in this space is inconsistent. Several widely used names map to more than one molecule, so a catalogue number and a sequence beat a common name every time.
Storage conditions came back specific rather than generic when I asked. That told me somebody had actually done stability work.

This is the rule for anything unusual. Identity before anything else.
Purity methods differ by compound class. A gradient and wavelength developed for one peptide will not necessarily resolve the relevant impurities of another.
Sent an unusual compound to VendorInvestigate because nobody on this site had ever posted one. 97.6% against a claimed 97.5%.
Cosigning the lead-time point. Made-to-order and stocked are completely different propositions and both are legitimate.

Asked QSC which lines they keep in regional stock versus make to order and got a clear split. It changed what I ordered.

Disagreeing with this bit: handling for one compound does not transfer to another by default.
Bought small on anything without a testing history here. That rule has never once cost me anything.

Right — SSA answered a handling question with actual storage conditions rather than a generic line, which is the standard.
Agreed that thin testing here says something about the members, not about the material.
