Has anyone here tested that compound at all?
comment on [COA] what does "related substances 1.4%" actually mean for my vial in c/coa · 23 points · 12 days ago
Spent four months confusing area% and mass% in every post I made here. One explainer thread and it clicked permanently.

Yes. Nothing here is approved for human use and that should be the first line of every thread, not the last.

Started keeping a folder of every certificate I have been sent. The ones that itemise impurities are a small group and they are mostly the same suppliers.

Bought small, tested identity first, and only then thought about anything else. That order felt right.

Which paper is that claim from, and was it in humans?
comment on reading TB-500 threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/researchpeptides · 0 points · 2 months ago
Storage conditions came back specific rather than generic when I asked.
This is the rule for anything unusual. Identity before anything else.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about COA until somebody posts a number in c/coa · 357 points · 4 months ago
Sent one vial to Medutest and PeptideMeter. 98.4% and a claimed 97.5%. Cost me more than the vial and I would do it again.

Agreed — cheap to make is a double-edged fact and it explains a lot about this corner of the market.
Disagreeing with this line: that paper is in a rodent model and it is being quoted as a human result.
comment on reading identity threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/researchpeptides · 4 points · 6 months ago
Net peptide content on the certificate was well below the purity figure and both were honest.
Disagreeing with this bit: handling for one compound does not transfer to another by default.

comment on [Discussion] area percent is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/coa · 55 points · 8 months ago
My first certificate had a compound name, a percentage and a logo. I thought that was normal. It is not, and now I know what to ask for.

Is water content on the document? It changes your concentration arithmetic.

Left up.
rui_only_ro is right that a pure something-else is still something else.

Right — QSC answered a handling question with actual storage conditions rather than a generic line, which is the standard.

if nobody has tested it here, that is a fact about us, not the compound
comment on [Discussion] purity is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/coa · 1 points · 1 year ago
The document I was worried about turned out to be a re-issue with a later creation date. Asked, got the original, entirely ordinary.

Cosigning. The batch identifier is load-bearing, and a certificate that cannot be tied to the vial in your hand is not about your vial.

Area percent or net peptide content? They answer different questions.

batch number, date of analysis, method, individual impurities — that is the minimum set
gastric_emptying_g has the distinction right — one is a fraction of the detector signal, the other is a fraction of the mass.

Kept a reconstituted vial too long out of curiosity and learned something about solution stability I would rather have read.

Asked HJ for the batch-specific certificate and had the full document — batch, date, method line naming the column — inside six hours. That is now my baseline for everybody.
