What step are you on and how long have you been there?

UV at 214nm sees the peptide bond and picks up almost everything; at 280nm you are looking at aromatics only. Which wavelength the number came from is part of the number.

Research-use-only material is not approved for human use, so treat everything in this thread as arithmetic about solutions rather than instructions for a person.

I would not round that figure. At 30mg/mL a rounding error of two units is a real fraction of the intended amount.

Agree. The GIP component is the interesting half and it barely gets discussed outside c/glp1science.

Nothing in this thread is medical advice, including this comment. I am describing a mechanism, not telling anybody what to do about their own week.

GP said no in the spring, specialist said yes eighteen months later. Same person, same numbers.

comment on [Discussion] carrier is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/intlshipping · 204 points · 1 year ago

A lane is an origin, a destination, a carrier and a season.

Adding the field everyone forgets — the month. Without it the report is not comparable to anything.

Careful — "the metadata looks odd" is a reason to ask a question, not a conclusion. Re-issues are ordinary.

Cosigning the fibre and water answer. Unglamorous, free, and it fixed it for me inside a week.

LC-MS gives you identity; UV purity gives you a relative quantity. A document with the first and not the second, or the reverse, is answering half the question.

Correction: that was clearance time, not carrier time. The lane table separates them for exactly this reason.

That is the quoted lead time, not the observed transit. Both belong in the report and they are different columns.

Kept a one-line-a-day log for two months. The pattern was obvious on paper and invisible in my head.

This. Showing the working is the fastest way for somebody else to spot the mistake.

Not quite.

Agreed, and the practical version is: ask for the itemised table. If it exists, you get it.

comment on my ApoB moved and I cannot work out whether SURPASS is why in c/tirzepatide · 685 points · 2 years ago

SURMOUNT-1 ran 72 weeks with the top arm around 21% mean body weight change. SURPASS is the diabetes programme and reports glycaemic endpoints, so quoting the two interchangeably is a category error.

permalink

comment on [Question] carrier — what am I missing here in c/intlshipping · 279 points · 2 years ago

Regional stock replaces an international lane with a domestic one. That is a structural change to the distribution, not a marginal improvement, and it is why the warehouse question matters more than the carrier question.

permalink

comment on insulin syringe is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/reconstitution · 19 points · 2 years ago

Disagree with the "more water is safer" framing. It is not safer, it is just a different number to divide by.

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring constipation at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/sideeffects · 0 points · 2 years ago

Left up.

Agreed, with the caveat that "usually settles" is not "always settles" and the exceptions should still get asked about properly.

Agreed — the itemised related substances table is the difference between a document and a receipt.

permalink

comment on the packaging thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/intlshipping · 60 points · 2 years ago

A lane is an origin, a destination, a carrier and a season. Change any one and the distribution changes, which is why supplier-level shipping averages are close to meaningless.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] related substances are doing more work than we give it credit for in c/coa · 624 points · 2 years ago

Correction: that is net peptide content, not purity. Different number, different meaning, and the document says so if you read the row label.

comment on is it normal to get muscle cramps at week 54 in c/tirzepatide · 58 points · 2 years ago

Vials and pens carry the same molecule; what differs is fill volume, device tolerance and whether you are doing your own arithmetic. Neither is inherently more accurate.

Related substances itemised individually is a much stronger document than a single total, because it tells you the shape of the impurity profile rather than its size.

comment on [Vendor] TFC vs SSA on the same compound, same month — both cleared 98.0% in c/coa · 561 points · 2 years ago

The document I was worried about turned out to be a re-issue with a later creation date. Asked, got the original, entirely ordinary.

permalink

comment on genuine question about reflux that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/sideeffects · 159 points · 2 years ago

Correction: that is a known effect of reduced intake rather than a direct drug effect. The distinction matters because the fix is different.

permalink

comment on [Meta] proposal — a flair for batch posts in c/coa · 35 points · 2 years ago

Pushing back a little: a missing field is usually presentation, not concealment. Ask for the full document before drawing conclusions.

permalink

comment on small win: cagrilintide stopped being a problem at week 60 in c/cagrilintide · 56 points · 2 years ago

Right, and the tolerability data in the combination arms is the part worth reading properly rather than summarising.
