comment on genuine question about retatrutide that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/retatrutide · 113 points · 4 months ago

heart rate is the thing people report watching

Yes. I stepped to 12.5 because the calendar said so, not because anything needed fixing, and I regretted it for a fortnight.

Small fix: SURMOUNT is the obesity programme, SURPASS is the type-2 programme. They are different endpoints and the numbers do not transfer.

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify testing in c/vendorvetting · 216 points · 5 months ago

A certificate with a purity figure and no method line is not falsifiable. You cannot reproduce it, you cannot check it, and it tells you nothing about how the number was produced.

How long after a step up did this start?

Are you asking about the compound, the weight loss, or both?

comment on [Question] dual agonist — what am I missing here in c/tirzepatide · 3 points · 5 months ago

Push back: "gentler than sema" is a population statement. Plenty of people on this board have the opposite experience and they are not doing it wrong.

comment on small win: PCOS stopped being a problem at week 61 in c/glp1women · 165 points · 6 months ago

PCOS and insulin resistance are the thread that runs through this board

permalink

comment on [Meta] the gallbladder rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/sideeffects · 42 points · 6 months ago

Severe or persistent abdominal pain sits outside the pattern this board can usefully discuss. The honest answer there is that it needs someone who can examine you.

Small fix — the figure you quoted is the claimed purity from the certificate, and the independent result was the higher of the two.

Did you ask for the batch-specific certificate, or the generic one?

the wider-market names in the table are there because nobody has enough data on them

comment on dose escalation — my 2-week log, condensed into one table in c/retatrutide · 27 points · 6 months ago

Push back: quoting the phase 2 headline as an expected outcome is not a fair reading of a small trial with wide intervals.

comment on is it normal to get injection-site soreness at week 4 in c/sideeffects · 32 points · 6 months ago

That symptom is not the one being described upthread. Two different things with similar names and the answers are not interchangeable.

research-use-only material is not approved for human use, full stop

permalink

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about reflux in c/sideeffects · 10 points · 7 months ago

Is it every week or did it start at a particular dose?

permalink

comment on reading retatrutide threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/retatrutide · 105 points · 8 months ago

phase 2 data only, and people quote it like it is a label

permalink

comment on [PSA] reship is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/vendorvetting · 58 points · 8 months ago

That is a report count, not a test count. The table lists both and they are very different numbers.

sulphur burps are the signature complaint and they are not dangerous

Which day of the week relative to the shot does it hit?

permalink

comment on three years of 15mg threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/tirzepatide · 34 points · 8 months ago

Appetite effect for me is flat across seven days. On sema it was a wave. Same person, different molecule.

week 6 is early to draw any conclusion at all

permalink

comment on week 18 check-in — 8kg down, sulphur burps manageable, one thing confusing me in c/glp1women · 6 points · 8 months ago

Hormonal variation across the cycle affects appetite, fluid retention and subjective symptom intensity independently of anything else, which is why an unannotated log can look mysterious.

comment on the constipation thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/sideeffects · 51 points · 9 months ago

Reflux was the one that got me. Stopped eating in the three hours before bed and it went from nightly to almost never.

Correction: that is a known effect of reduced intake rather than a direct drug effect. The distinction matters because the fix is different.

hair shedding follows the rate of loss, not the compound

permalink

comment on [Question] TRIUMPH — what am I missing here in c/retatrutide · 66 points · 9 months ago

It is a triple agonist at the GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors. The glucagon arm is the genuinely novel component and it is the one with the least human outcome data behind it.

say what you are actually asking, the vocabulary here is imprecise

permalink

comment on perimenopause — my 15-week log, condensed into one table in c/glp1women · 10 points · 9 months ago

Perimenopause and all of this at once, and there is essentially nothing written about the combination anywhere.

comment on [Meta] proposal — a flair for Mounjaro posts in c/tirzepatide · 534 points · 9 months ago

The distribution matters more than the mean. In the trial population the interquartile spread was wide enough that two honest people can have completely different runs on the same arm.

Careful, that guidance is from a different country and this thread is asking about somewhere else entirely.

The thing that decided it for me was that BCH answered a column-and-gradient question in writing without asking why I wanted to know.

Pen or vial? The step sizes available differ and it changes this answer.

permalink

comment on is it normal to get constipation at week 87 in c/tirzepatide · 43 points · 11 months ago

Sulphur burps for the first eight days after each step, then nothing. Predictable enough that I planned my week around it.
