comment on [Country] DE — Apotheke pricing, Rezept process, what off-label actually costs in c/glp1eu · 2 points · 2 days ago

Cross-border prescription recognition exists under EU rules but is conditional and narrower than commonly assumed, with requirements about the prescription’s form and content.

comment on is the tirz appetite thing actually different or am i imagining it in c/tirzepatide · 1 points · 3 days ago

a lot of people plateau nicely at 10mg and never need 15

permalink

comment on [Results] 5mg for eight months, never went higher, -22kg in c/tirzepatide · 2 points · 3 days ago

Pen or vial? The step sizes available differ and it changes this answer.

comment on [Caution] CagriSema trial ratios are fixed-dose, do not extrapolate to self-mixing in c/cagrilintide · 23 points · 4 days ago

Asked a question here that turned out to be based on a mechanism confusion. Three people untangled it patiently.

comment on [Caution] hepatic endpoints need biopsy data, not an ALT screenshot in c/survodutide · 18 points · 13 days ago

How fast was the escalation in that protocol?

permalink

comment on sulphur burps: a taxonomy, a timeline, and my sincere apologies to my flatmate in c/sideeffects · 1 points · 15 days ago

sulphur burps are unpleasant and they are not dangerous

permalink

comment on am I the only one who found hepatic fat harder than the injections in c/survodutide · 3 points · 20 days ago

the weight numbers are secondary to what this is being developed for

permalink

comment on [Discussion] the hair loss advice in here is 3 years out of date in c/sideeffects · 14 points · 27 days ago

Has anything else changed in the same window?

permalink

comment on tried nausea for 15 weeks. here is what happened. in c/sideeffects · 26 points · 1 months ago

What is intake actually looking like — fibre and water especially?

permalink

comment on the gallbladder question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/sideeffects · 190 points · 1 months ago

if it is severe or persistent that is a clinician question, not a board question

permalink

comment on amylin — 23 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/cagrilintide · 1 points · 1 months ago

Right, and the tolerability data in the combination arms is the part worth reading properly rather than summarising.

permalink

comment on reimbursement — 17 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/glp1eu · 27 points · 1 months ago

The translation cost of dealing with a foreign pharmacy was the thing I had not budgeted for.

permalink

comment on someone explain CagriSema to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/cagrilintide · 16 points · 1 months ago

Push back: the evidence base here is thin enough that a confident ranking against the established compounds is not supportable.

permalink

comment on reflux — 18 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/sideeffects · 24 points · 2 months ago

smaller meals, earlier, is the boring advice that works

permalink

comment on reflux — 18 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/sideeffects · 44 points · 2 months ago

eating slower does more than most of the supplements people recommend

permalink

comment on why does nobody talk about dual agonist in c/survodutide · -27 points · 3 months ago

research material is not approved for human use, which is why the clinical record here is thin

permalink

comment on constipation: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/sideeffects · 1 points · 3 months ago

That symptom is not the one being described upthread. Two different things with similar names and the answers are not interchangeable.

comment on Zepbound — my 8-week log, condensed into one table in c/tirzepatide · 49 points · 3 months ago

Came off sema and onto tirz with a two-week gap. The first month was flat and I assumed I had made a mistake. Month two it moved.

permalink

comment on [Results] 45 weeks, 14kg, and tirzepatide was the hard part in c/tirzepatide · 216 points · 3 months ago

Sulphur burps for the first eight days after each step, then nothing. Predictable enough that I planned my week around it.

permalink

comment on [PSA] Zepbound is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/tirzepatide · 46 points · 4 months ago

stepping every four weeks is a ceiling on speed, not a schedule you must hit

permalink

Appetite effect for me is flat across seven days. On sema it was a wave. Same person, different molecule.

permalink

comment on [PSA] Zepbound is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/tirzepatide · 0 points · 4 months ago

switching from sema is not a dose conversion, there is no clean equivalence

permalink

comment on the MASH thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/survodutide · 114 points · 4 months ago

Nothing containing this compound is approved anywhere. Research-use-only material is not approved for human use.

permalink

comment on tried satiety for 2 weeks. here is what happened. in c/cagrilintide · 13 points · 4 months ago

Not convinced. Amylin signalling is not a GLP-1 pathway and the mechanism you are proposing conflates them.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify MASH in c/survodutide · 1 points · 4 months ago

Assumed the weight numbers were the point and was corrected. They are secondary to what this is being developed for.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify reimbursement in c/glp1eu · 1 points · 4 months ago

the reimbursement criteria are published in most member states

permalink

comment on three years of T2D threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/t2dglp1 · 41 points · 4 months ago

Are you quoting a diabetes trial or an obesity one?

permalink

comment on [Results] 26 weeks, 9kg, and dual agonist was the hard part in c/tirzepatide · 1 points · 4 months ago

Yes — 10mg being a genuine landing place for a lot of people is underrated. There is no medal for 15.

permalink

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about heart rate in c/sideeffects · -6 points · 5 months ago

the first fortnight after a step is the worst of it, then it settles

permalink

comment on reading sulphur burps threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/sideeffects · 67 points · 5 months ago

Nobody warned me about nausea and I would have liked the warning. It was not dangerous, it was just deeply unpleasant and completely unexpected.

permalink

comment on hypoglycaemia: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/t2dglp1 · 1 points · 6 months ago

the fasting number is the one people fixate on and it moves last

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about GIP actually comes from SURMOUNT threads in c/tirzepatide · 662 points · 6 months ago

Weekly dosing again, half-life in the same neighbourhood as sema, so a step change takes about a month to reach steady state. Judging a new step at day five is judging noise.

permalink

comment on [Question] reimbursement — what am I missing here in c/glp1eu · 7 points · 6 months ago

Agreed that pharmacy margin regulation explains a lot of the price differences people find mysterious.

permalink

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about glycaemic control in c/t2dglp1 · 2 points · 7 months ago

Small fix — insulin secretion in this class is glucose-dependent, which is precisely why the risk you describe comes from the other agent.

permalink

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about glycaemic control in c/t2dglp1 · 12 points · 7 months ago

dose for glycaemic control is not the same conversation as dose for weight

permalink

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about reflux in c/sideeffects · 8 points · 7 months ago

I would be careful here. "Everyone gets this" is not true, and it makes the people who get something unusual assume they are fine when they should be asking.
