comment on [PSA] your bac water is fine, your fridge door is not in c/reconstitution · 15 points · 1 days ago
if the maths gives you a fraction of a unit, change the concentration
comment on [Seizure] letter arrived, no prosecution, here is exactly what it said in c/customs · 22 points · 2 days ago
Which country, and which country did it ship from?
comment on [Question] cycle got longer by six days. anyone else. in c/glp1women · 1 points · 2 days ago
the trials were not designed to answer most of the questions asked here
comment on [Pricing] compounded tirz pricing in my state, six months of receipts in c/compounding · 4 points · 2 days ago
a 503B has to register and report, so there is a paper trail to ask for
comment on [Explainer] delayed gastric emptying does most of the work people credit to the brain in c/glp1science · 1 points · 2 days ago
Does the effect persist with continued dosing or does tolerance develop?
comment on foam means you shook it. do not shake it in c/reconstitution · 214 points · 3 days ago
If your calculation produces a fraction of a unit, the concentration is wrong for your dose. Change the water volume until the numbers land on whole units.
comment on [Explainer] delayed gastric emptying does most of the work people credit to the brain in c/glp1science · 1 points · 3 days ago
Which receptor arm are you attributing that to?
comment on [Question] cycle got longer by six days. anyone else. in c/glp1women · 1 points · 3 days ago
Yes — hair shedding tracks the rate of loss and it is temporary. That reassurance is worth repeating.
comment on [Question] does needle dead space actually matter at 2.5mg doses in c/reconstitution · 14 points · 4 days ago
Small fix — a U-100 syringe is 100 units per mL. If yours is marked differently it is not U-100 and the whole calculation changes.
comment on [Explainer] why 1mL syringes cause overdoses and 0.3mL ones do not in c/reconstitution · 75 points · 4 days ago
Aim the stream down the wall of the vial rather than into the cake. Reconstitution is a solubility problem, not a mixing problem, and mechanical shear does nothing helpful.
comment on [Fertility] the contraception interaction question, with the actual label wording in c/glp1women · -4 points · 7 days ago
the trials were not designed to answer most of the questions asked here
comment on [Discussion] the compounding gap was a symptom, not a solution in c/compounding · 111 points · 11 days ago
Push back: "compounded is fine because a pharmacy made it" skips every question this board exists to ask.
comment on cloudy after reconstitution — discard, right? right. in c/reconstitution · 14 points · 12 days ago
dead space in the needle hub is real and it is small
comment on cloudy after reconstitution — discard, right? right. in c/reconstitution · 1 points · 12 days ago
What is written on the vial right now?
comment on [PCOS] my androgens moved before my weight did in c/glp1women · 19 points · 14 days ago
cycle timing changes how the same week feels
comment on [Question] hair shedding — is it the drug or the deficit in c/glp1women · 0 points · 17 days ago
That trial did not enrol the population you are asking about, so it cannot answer this.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about import until somebody posts a number in c/customs · 1 points · 1 months ago
Correction: that is a request for information, not a seizure notice. Different document, different process, different deadline.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about import until somebody posts a number in c/customs · 2 points · 1 months ago
Have you asked the supplier what they declare?
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about import until somebody posts a number in c/customs · 12 points · 1 months ago
the answer for New Zealand does not apply anywhere else
comment on [Non-Scale Win] walked up the escalator instead of standing on it in c/progresspics · 78 points · 1 months ago
Disagree that the pace matters as much as you think. Durable is better than fast and nobody posts about durable.
comment on [Discussion] we are measuring state board at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/compounding · 10 points · 1 months ago
I would not read the price difference as a quality signal.
Agreed — and the follow-up question is what the beyond-use date is based on.
comment on the fertility question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/glp1women · 3 points · 1 months ago
Where in the cycle does this fall, if you are tracking it?
comment on [Results] 90 weeks, full dose-and-weight table, ask me anything in c/progresspics · 1 points · 1 months ago
Rate of change is not a virtue. Slower trajectories are as durable as fast ones and are considerably better represented on this board than the front page suggests.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about dead space until somebody posts a number in c/reconstitution · 2 points · 2 months ago
Yes, and the dead-space point is worth repeating: it is small, it is real, and it is the same for every draw.
comment on three years of pharmacology threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/glp1science · 2 points · 2 months ago
Agreed — the incretin effect is the load-bearing concept and everything downstream reads differently once you have it.
comment on [Discussion] we are measuring appetite at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/glp1science · 8 points · 2 months ago
incretin effect first, then everything else in this board makes sense
comment on reading 503B threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/compounding · 43 points · 3 months ago
do not assume the concentration matches the branded product
comment on 17 months in and PCOS is still the thing I get wrong in c/glp1women · 7 points · 3 months ago
Insulin resistance is a common feature in PCOS, which is why the metabolic conversation overlaps so heavily with this board. A diagnosis and a finding are still different things and the distinction matters for what the evidence says.
comment on [Question] how do you actually verify pharmacology in c/glp1science · 14 points · 3 months ago
Disagreeing with this specific inference — that is a preclinical result being read as human pharmacology.
Agreed — and it is why the central and peripheral stories are complementary rather than rival.
comment on how much of what we believe about bacteriostatic water actually comes from dead space threads in c/reconstitution · 277 points · 4 months ago
The arithmetic in full: concentration is mass over volume, so 20mg into 2mL gives 10mg/mL. A U-100 syringe is graduated at 100 units per millilitre, so 1mg is 1 divided by 10 millilitres, which is 10 units.
comment on how much of what we believe about bacteriostatic water actually comes from dead space threads in c/reconstitution · 116 points · 4 months ago
Same. I got this wrong once, caught it because the units looked absurd, and have written on every vial since.
comment on [Vendor] ERP order #20 — Germany, 4 days, no drama, receipts inside in c/customs · 65 points · 4 months ago
A hold, a request for information and a seizure are distinct administrative events. Each has its own process and deadlines, and the notice itself states which one you have.
comment on [Vendor] ERP order #20 — Germany, 4 days, no drama, receipts inside in c/customs · 22 points · 4 months ago
Cosigning on paperwork. The boring documents are the ones that matter when a process starts.
comment on someone explain non-scale victory to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/progresspics · 9 points · 4 months ago
Not convinced comparison helps here. The people posting the fastest results are the tail of a distribution, not the middle.
comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about import is guesswork in c/customs · 72 points · 4 months ago
Asked the supplier what documentation travels with the shipment and got a straight answer. That was reassuring in itself.
comment on genuine question about API source that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/compounding · 48 points · 5 months ago
if a clinic will not name the facility, that is your answer
comment on genuine question about API source that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/compounding · 20 points · 5 months ago
Who is the prescriber, and are they the same organisation as the pharmacy?
comment on genuine question about API source that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/compounding · 72 points · 5 months ago
the API source is the question nobody asks and everybody should
comment on why does nobody talk about concentration in c/reconstitution · 1 points · 5 months ago
Is that a U-100 syringe? The barrel markings change the answer completely.
comment on why does nobody talk about concentration in c/reconstitution · 1 points · 5 months ago
Show the arithmetic — where did the unit figure come from?
