[Meta] proposal — a flair for dose stretching posts

Metabranch of 11 comments

Proposal, not a decision: proposal — a flair for dose stretching posts. Drifted up 13kg over a winter and panicked. It came back off without any change, which is apparently just what weight does. Weigh monthly now. Best change I made in the whole run and it cost nothing. The two levers, described properly, because…

Body weight varies by a couple of kilos over days in stable people through fluid, glycogen and gut content. A range is not a trend.

Two years at maintenance. The logistics are the only remaining work — ordering, storing, remembering.

Did you decide what maintenance would look like before you got here?

Cosigning on planning it in advance. Deciding what maintenance looks like while still losing is much easier than deciding it in a panic.

None of this is a taper plan. What dose holds for you is a question for somebody with your history in front of them.

Correcting myself: 21 months at maintenance, not the figure I posted. I keep rounding it up.

Stretched from seven to ten days and then to twelve over about four months. Appetite told me where the limit was before the scale did.

This. The withdrawal data is not ambiguous and framing regain as a personal failure is both wrong and cruel.

stretching the interval is not the same as reducing the dose

Been at maintenance for 9 months on 7.5mg. Nothing happens. That is the whole report and it took me a while to accept it as success.

Agreed — and appetite is the leading indicator. The scale is the lagging one.

About c/maintenancephase

The part nobody posts about: what happens at goal weight. Finding a lowest effective dose, dose-interval stretching, regain risk data, muscle retention, the psychology of not having a number to chase, and staying on indefinitely versus tapering.

c/maintenancephase rules
  1. State how long you have been at maintenance. "Maintenance" at week 30 is not maintenance.
  2. Regain is not a moral failing and posts implying it is get removed.
  3. Dose-stretching experiences welcome; dose-stretching instructions are not.
  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  7. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
  8. No contact handles, wallet addresses or tracking numbers — they identify people.
  9. Be recognisably decent. Disagree hard, insult nobody.
