comment on how much of what we believe about MHRA actually comes from pharmacy threads in c/glp1uk · 35 points · 9 months ago

Same. My ICB threshold was different from the neighbouring one and nobody could tell me why.

That comparison crosses two labs with different assays. The difference you are describing may be the method.

Is this a line they hold in regional stock or is it shipping from origin?

Have you read the published reimbursement criteria where you are?

Disagreeing with this bit: that criterion belongs to one member state and is being quoted as general.

keep every form, every date, every reference number

Small fix — those two prices are for different pack sizes, which accounts for most of the gap.

Agreed on keeping letters.

Agreed — and keeping the letters with dates is what makes any later challenge possible.

Not convinced — cross-border prescription recognition is narrower than you are describing and the exceptions matter.

Disagree. That is one member state’s reimbursement rule and it does not generalise across the union.

Perimenopause and all of this at once, and there is essentially nothing written about the combination anywhere.

Hormonal variation across the cycle affects appetite, fluid retention and subjective symptom intensity independently of anything else, which is why an unannotated log can look mysterious.

Pharmacy pricing on a private prescription is set by the pharmacy. The spread between them in a given month is routinely substantial, which is why a tracker built from member reports is more useful than any headline.

Different laboratories use different assay platforms with different calibration. Comparing across labs adds a systematic offset that is invisible on the report.

The variation between pharmacies inside my own country was larger than the variation I had been chasing across the border.

comment on [Question] data logger — what am I missing here in c/coldchain · 91 points · 1 year ago

Once in solution, the relevant risks are hydrolysis, aggregation and, for some sequences, oxidation. Refrigeration slows all three; freezing a solution introduces a separate risk at the ice interface.

Draw at the same point in the week now, fasting, same lab. The noise dropped enormously once I standardised.

Substantial weight loss independently moves lipids, liver enzymes and several other markers. Attributing a change to a compound while losing weight is confounded by design.

A stability statement is only meaningful with its conditions attached: temperature, duration, light exposure, and whether it covers powder or solution

This is the distinction that resolves most threads here — powder and solution are different problems.

Nothing here is medical or legal advice. The pharmacist and the prescriber are the people who can act, and both are faster than a forum.

hedda_adeyemi is right that a reference interval is not a target. It is a description of a population.
