comment on my ApoB moved and I cannot work out whether resistance training is why in c/glp1muscle · 2 points · 1 year ago
do not compare your composition to a trial average
comment on someone explain reflux to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/sideeffects · 162 points · 1 year ago
if it is severe or persistent that is a clinician question, not a board question
comment on [Discussion] the glycaemic control advice in here is 2 years out of date in c/t2dglp1 · 67 points · 1 year ago
Yes — the person managing your diabetes is the one to talk to, and this board is explicit about that.
comment on genuine question about dose stretching that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/maintenancephase · 57 points · 1 year ago
Dose reduction and interval extension are different interventions. Halving the dose keeps the rhythm and lowers the level; stretching keeps the level and lowers the frequency, with a lower trough.
comment on the TRIUMPH thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/retatrutide · 12 points · 1 year ago
Read the phase 2 paper twice before ordering anything. Recommend that to anyone in this board: the error bars are the interesting part.
comment on the dead space question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/reconstitution · 3 points · 1 year ago
Reconstituted at 3mL when I meant to use a different volume. Caught it because the units looked wrong on the barrel. Now I write 6.67mg/mL on the glass before I put the cap back.
comment on ice pack — 19 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/coldchain · 548 points · 1 year ago
A transit temperature logger records a distribution, and time above a threshold matters as much as peak temperature. That is the argument for logging rather than guessing.
comment on what would you tell week-1 you about glucagon in c/retatrutide · 1.8k points · 1 year ago
Phase 2 estimates effect and finds a dose range. Phase 3 estimates it precisely in a bigger population and catches what phase 2 was too small to see. Treating them as the same tier of evidence is the recurring error here.
comment on three years of cold chain threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/coldchain · 272 points · 1 year ago
Once in solution, the relevant risks are hydrolysis, aggregation and, for some sequences, oxidation. Refrigeration slows all three; freezing a solution introduces a separate risk at the ice interface.
comment on small win: goal weight stopped being a problem at week 85 in c/maintenancephase · 623 points · 1 year ago
stretching the interval is not the same as reducing the dose
comment on someone explain discontinuation to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/tapering · 7 points · 1 year ago
There is very little published guidance on stopping specifically, which is exactly why board consensus here should carry less weight than usual and a
Disagreeing with this bit: stretching and reducing are different things and the post treats them as one.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about constipation until somebody posts a number in c/sideeffects · 1 points · 1 year ago
Agreed. Slowing down at meals did more for my constipation than everything I bought to fix it, which was embarrassing to discover.
comment on switched from 5mg to 12.5mg and food noise got better, not worse in c/maintenancephase · 3 points · 1 year ago
regain after stopping is the expected outcome, not a personal failure
comment on switched from 1.7mg to 2.4mg and nausea got better, not worse in c/maintenancephase · 1 points · 1 year ago
regain after stopping is the expected outcome, not a personal failure
comment on switched from 1.7mg to 2.4mg and nausea got better, not worse in c/maintenancephase · -25 points · 1 year ago
What dose are you holding, and for how long now?
comment on triple agonist: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/retatrutide · 1 points · 1 year ago
small trial, big effect, wide error bars
comment on [Lab] TFC BPC — Janoshik came back 98.3% against a claimed 98.0% in c/labresults · 0 points · 1 year ago
Do you have the trace, or only the summary?
comment on the bacteriostatic water question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/reconstitution · 236 points · 1 year ago
Careful — that arithmetic is wrong. 10mg in 2mL is 5mg/mL, so 2mg draws to 40 units, not what you wrote.
comment on help me understand PeptideMeter, I have read the wiki twice in c/labresults · 13 points · 1 year ago
say whether you paid for it yourself
comment on the discontinuation thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/tapering · 47 points · 1 year ago
This. Decide in advance what you are watching for. Deciding in the middle of it is much harder.
comment on someone explain mg/mL to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/reconstitution · 32 points · 1 year ago
Small fix — a U-100 syringe is 100 units per mL. If yours is marked differently it is not U-100 and the whole calculation changes.
comment on [PSA] sulphur burps are not what most of this community thinks it is in c/sideeffects · 1.6k points · 1 year ago
Reflux was the one that got me. Stopped eating in the three hours before bed and it went from nightly to almost never.
comment on stalled for 11 weeks at 12.5mg and I refuse to panic this time in c/retatrutide · 20 points · 1 year ago
The phase 2 readout ran to 48 weeks in a few hundred participants with a slow escalation. Both the size and the duration matter when people quote the headline number.
comment on [Discussion] we are measuring units at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/reconstitution · 1 points · 1 year ago
Careful — that arithmetic is wrong. 5mg in 2mL is 2.5mg/mL, so 2mg draws to 80 units, not what you wrote.
comment on [Discussion] below spec is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/labresults · 12 points · 1 year ago
Is that the same lot as the one in the thread from last month?
comment on nobody warned me about sulphur burps and I would have liked the warning in c/sideeffects · 202 points · 1 year ago
Pushback: you changed the dose, the meal timing and the training in the same fortnight, so the attribution is guesswork.
comment on Germany: data logger, and what it actually costs here in c/coldchain · 44 points · 1 year ago
You cannot infer potency from a temperature record. The record tells you what happened to the box; only a test tells you what happened to the material.
comment on [Meta] the concentration rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/reconstitution · 307 points · 1 year ago
Adding more water does not change how much peptide is in the vial. It changes the concentration, which changes the volume you draw for the same amount. That is the entire relationship.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about excursion until somebody posts a number in c/coldchain · -37 points · 1 year ago
Lyophilisation removes the water that drives most degradation pathways. That is why the dry cake is comparatively robust and the reconstituted solution is not.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about excursion until somebody posts a number in c/coldchain · 20 points · 1 year ago
Do you know what storage condition the stability statement covers?
comment on the nausea thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/sideeffects · 10 points · 1 year ago
Agreed. Slowing down at meals did more for my constipation than everything I bought to fix it, which was embarrassing to discover.
comment on [Question] reconstitution — what am I missing here in c/reconstitution · 5 points · 1 year ago
twice as much water halves the concentration and doubles the units for the same dose
comment on is it normal to get early fullness at week 64 in c/retatrutide · 10 points · 1 year ago
Same read. The energy-expenditure mechanism is the interesting bit and it is not established in humans at scale.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about mg/mL until somebody posts a number in c/reconstitution · 99 points · 1 year ago
That only works if the fill weight is exactly the label weight, and it usually is not exactly anything.
comment on goal weight — my 23-week log, condensed into one table in c/maintenancephase · -27 points · 1 year ago
the goal weight you picked at week 1 was a guess
comment on week 59 check-in — 17kg down, early fullness manageable, one thing confusing me in c/sideeffects · 114 points · 1 year ago
hair shedding follows the weight loss, not the drug, and it stops
comment on [Discussion] we are measuring goal weight at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/maintenancephase · 42 points · 1 year ago
This. The withdrawal data is not ambiguous and framing regain as a personal failure is both wrong and cruel.
comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about discontinuation is guesswork in c/tapering · 44 points · 1 year ago
Careful — interval stretching and dose reduction are different interventions and your post uses them interchangeably.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about reconstitution until somebody posts a number in c/reconstitution · 27 points · 1 year ago
Not quite. Bacteriostatic and sterile water are not interchangeable for a multi-draw vial, and the difference is the preservative.
comment on [Results] 15 weeks on 0.25mg, full numbers, ask me anything boring in c/tapering · 6 points · 1 year ago
Do you have a written baseline from before you started changing anything?
