comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about order records are guesswork in c/vendorvetting · 9 points · 10 months ago

Fixing my own comment above: I said 8 orders and it is 3. The pattern is the same, the count was wrong.

the lot on the vial has to match the lot on the certificate, every time

Flair set to Vendor.

paper_trail_paula is describing the batch record test and it is the fastest signal available before you spend anything.

Push back: that is not a plateau, that is maintenance. You have arrived and you are describing it as a failure.

How many days in transit, and which month?

Disagreeing with this line only: freezing a reconstituted vial is not a safe default.

What is the plan if the drift continues for another month?

comment on [Question] integration — what am I missing here in c/hplc · 18 points · 1 year ago

That is area percent, not mass percent. The trace cannot give you the second one.

comment on [Question] is 97.4% actually fine or am I being sold a rounding error in c/hplc · 3 points · 1 year ago

Mass spectrometry answers identity. UV purity answers relative quantity under the run conditions. A document with one and not the other is answering half the question, and the half it answers should be stated.

comment on the testing question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/vendorvetting · 4 points · 1 year ago

What a batch record should carry: the lot identifier, the date of analysis, the method including column and gradient, the individual related substance

Would qualify this slightly. Fewer entries means less sampling, and less sampling is not the same as a worse process.

This. A shoulder that does not baseline-resolve is a question, not a quantity.

comment on three years of cold chain threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/coldchain · 174 points · 1 year ago

Regional stock changes the question rather than answering it: shorter lanes mean less exposure and fewer variables, which is why the warehouse question is worth asking before ordering in summer.

Mass spectrometry answers identity.

Disagreeing with this bit: that spread is ordinary inter-lab variance, not a disagreement about the material.

Stretched from seven to ten days and then to twelve over about four months. Appetite told me where the limit was before the scale did.

Small fix — 214nm, not 210. It matters for the comparison you are making with the other run.

Gave the same trace to two people I trust and got two integrations about a point apart. That was the most educational afternoon I have had here.

I would not freeze it in solution. That is a different failure mode and a worse one.

Cosigning on missed weeks. Leaving them blank makes the whole series misleading.

Do you know what storage condition the stability statement covers?

permalink

comment on Sweden: excursion, and what it actually costs here in c/coldchain · 25 points · 1 year ago

What actually matters, in order, because these threads always start at the wrong end.

Adding the practical version: ask which lines are held regionally before you order in July.

Correcting myself above: the transit was 4 days, not the figure I posted. Same conclusion, wrong number.

permalink

comment on Sweden: excursion, and what it actually costs here in c/coldchain · 23 points · 1 year ago

Cosigning the regional stock point. Ordering from a warehouse in Poland took the whole question off my table.

a summer lane and a winter lane are different lanes

permalink

Split an order across two months deliberately to compare summer and winter transit on the same lane. Four days difference, same carrier.

Careful — you are treating retention time as identity. Two things can co-elute and the trace will not tell you.
