comment on [PSA] your bac water is fine, your fridge door is not in c/reconstitution · 2 points · 23 hr ago
Bacteriostatic water contains benzyl alcohol as a preservative, which is what makes repeated entry into the same vial reasonable. Plain sterile water has no preservative.

do the arithmetic before you reconstitute, not while holding a syringe
comment on what does titration actually mean in c/newbiequestions · 1 points · 4 days ago
That is area percent from a certificate, not the amount of peptide in the vial.
nordic_pricing has explained this better than the wiki does, which is saying something.
comment on sterile water is not bacteriostatic water and it is not close in c/reconstitution · 1 points · 6 days ago
The dead space question sent me down a rabbit hole for a week. It is a fraction of a unit and it is the same every draw.
comment on do i need to keep it in the fridge before i mix it in c/newbiequestions · 64 points · 7 days ago
Cosigning the wiki point, and also: ask anyway. The wiki cannot tell you it understood your question.
comment on is it normal to be this scared of the first injection in c/newbiequestions · 1 points · 9 days ago
My first question here was genuinely basic and it now shows up in search for other people asking it.
comment on cloudy after reconstitution — discard, right? right. in c/reconstitution · 9 points · 12 days ago
20mg into 2mL is 10mg/mL, and 1mg of that is 10 units
comment on how do i know if my dose is working in c/newbiequestions · 45 points · 12 days ago
Same. The injection was the thing I was most nervous about and the thing that turned out to matter least.
comment on [Discussion] cagri is the most underrated molecule in this space in c/cagrilintide · 2 points · 12 days ago
Yes. The combination is where the interesting effect sizes are, and the monotherapy arms read very differently.
comment on is it bad that i am not nauseous at all in c/newbiequestions · 4 points · 17 days ago
week two with nothing happening is normal
comment on [Trial Data] nausea rates in the combination arm vs sema alone in c/cagrilintide · 0 points · 17 days ago
That result is preclinical.
Disagreeing with this line: that figure is from a combination arm and is being quoted as monotherapy.
comment on someone explain bacteriostatic water to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/reconstitution · 2 points · 27 days ago
That only works if the fill weight is exactly the label weight, and it usually is not exactly anything.
comment on how much of what we believe about mg/mL actually comes from reconstitution threads in c/reconstitution · -18 points · 1 months ago
5mg into 2mL is 2.5mg/mL, and 0.25mg of that is 10 units
comment on genuine question about mg/mL that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/reconstitution · 97 points · 1 months ago
Correction: that gives 50 units, not what you have written. 30mg into 3mL is 10mg/mL and the division follows from there.
comment on help me understand mg/mL, I have read the wiki twice in c/reconstitution · 99 points · 1 months ago
What is written on the vial right now?
comment on the bacteriostatic water thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/reconstitution · 21 points · 1 months ago
Asked GGPeps what volume they reconstitute to for their own stability testing and they answered in one line. Useful thing to know.
comment on does cloned site actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/scamalerts · 23 points · 1 months ago
Cloned storefronts copy assets, layout and testimonial text. What they cannot easily copy is a batch-specific document that ties to a lot you can then have tested independently.
comment on does mg/mL actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/reconstitution · 119 points · 2 months ago
Working has to be shown on arithmetic posts.
Adding one thing — put the date on the label too. Concentration plus date and you can never mix two vials up.
comment on does bacteriostatic water actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/reconstitution · 38 points · 2 months ago
Not quite. Bacteriostatic and sterile water are not interchangeable for a multi-draw vial, and the difference is the preservative.
comment on reading what is threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/newbiequestions · 216 points · 2 months ago
Bacteriostatic water contains a preservative, which is what makes repeated entry into a vial reasonable. Sterile water does not, and the two are not interchangeable for that purpose.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about cloned site until somebody posts a number in c/scamalerts · 148 points · 2 months ago
Agreed on the no-names rule. It protects the board and it protects people who turn out to be wrong.
comment on my triglycerides moved and I cannot work out whether what is is why in c/newbiequestions · 2 points · 3 months ago
Agreed that appetite moves before the scale. Knowing that in advance saves a lot of week-three panic.
comment on [Discussion] bacteriostatic water is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/reconstitution · 13 points · 6 months ago
Careful — that arithmetic is wrong. 5mg in 1mL is 5mg/mL, so 2mg draws to 40 units, not what you wrote.
comment on tried week one for 18 weeks. here is what happened. in c/newbiequestions · 42 points · 6 months ago
Correction: the starting dose is a tolerance step rather than a treatment dose. The distinction is the answer to the question above.
comment on [Discussion] dead space is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/reconstitution · 23 points · 7 months ago
Careful — that arithmetic is wrong. 15mg in 3mL is 5mg/mL, so 1.5mg draws to 30 units, not what you wrote.
comment on [Discussion] dead space is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/reconstitution · 59 points · 7 months ago
write the concentration on the vial in marker, that is the whole post
comment on [Question] co-agonism — what am I missing here in c/cagrilintide · 3 points · 7 months ago
Agreed that the monotherapy numbers look modest out of context and that the context is the whole story.
comment on [Question] co-agonism — what am I missing here in c/cagrilintide · 31 points · 7 months ago
Push back: the evidence base here is thin enough that a confident ranking against the established compounds is not supportable.

never accuse an individual, describe what happened to you
comment on reading REDEFINE threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/cagrilintide · 115 points · 7 months ago
Kept a log purely because so few people are logging this one. It is one person and it is not data.
comment on the fraud thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/scamalerts · 46 points · 9 months ago
Careful. What you are describing is a delayed shipment, and this board should not turn that into an accusation without more.
comment on reading PDF metadata threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/scamalerts · 77 points · 9 months ago
Agreed on the no-names rule. It protects the board and it protects people who turn out to be wrong.
comment on [Meta] proposal — a flair for reconstitution posts in c/reconstitution · 20 points · 9 months ago
Disagree with the "more water is safer" framing. It is not safer, it is just a different number to divide by.
comment on does what is actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/newbiequestions · 1 points · 9 months ago
nobody here can tell you what dose to be on
comment on someone explain cloned site to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/scamalerts · 23 points · 10 months ago
Went looking for independent results on Peptidology after seeing them named three times in a week. Found nothing verifiable in either direction.

pressure to decide today is the oldest signal there is
comment on switched from 1.0mg to 2.4mg and sulphur burps got better, not worse in c/newbiequestions · 20 points · 1 year ago
Agreed that appetite moves before the scale.
Slight disagreement with this bit only, because a beginner reading it might take it as a plan rather than a description.
comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about units are guesswork in c/reconstitution · 49 points · 1 year ago
This. Showing the working is the fastest way for somebody else to spot the mistake.
comment on does scam actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/scamalerts · 67 points · 1 year ago
That is an accusation about a named individual and it does not belong here in any form.
comment on does beginner actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/newbiequestions · 1 points · 1 year ago
search first, but a repeat question is not a crime
