comment on [Results] A1c 9.1 → 5.4, full table, 14 months in c/t2dglp1 · 39 points · 2 days ago

Time in range told me far more than the average did. Two quarters with the same A1c looked completely different on the sensor.

comment on [Lab] three BPC vials, three vendors, purity all over the place in c/bpc157 · 20 points · 3 days ago

Yes. Nothing here is approved for human use and that should be the first line of every thread, not the last.

comment on [Explainer] delayed gastric emptying does most of the work people credit to the brain in c/glp1science · 2 points · 3 days ago

Long half-life in this class comes from structural modification that promotes albumin binding and resists enzymatic degradation. Weekly dosing is a consequence of the molecule, not a convenience decision.

nobody else needs your log to be pretty

a log with no dates is a story

comment on hair started shedding at month 4 and stopped at month 9, protein and patience in c/sideeffects · 9 points · 6 days ago

sulphur burps are unpleasant and they are not dangerous

comment on [Regret] went 0.25 → 1.0 in three weeks and learned why that is dumb in c/darkspot · 8 points · 7 days ago

What would have caught it earliest?

permalink

comment on [Regret] went 0.25 → 1.0 in three weeks and learned why that is dumb in c/darkspot · 23 points · 8 days ago

coming back to say you were wrong takes more than being right did

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we use "appetite suppression" to describe three different mechanisms in c/glp1science · 15 points · 8 days ago

Disagree. That is a preclinical finding in a rodent model and you are stating it as human pharmacology.

permalink

comment on [CGM] my dawn phenomenon barely changed and that surprised me in c/t2dglp1 · 4 points · 8 days ago

Incretin-based agents stimulate insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner, which is why hypoglycaemia risk with them alone is low. Risk rises with agents that act independently of glycaemia.

comment on [Long Term] found my lowest effective dose by going down, not up in c/maintenancephase · 5 points · 9 days ago

the habits are the part that has to outlive the dose

permalink

comment on [Paper] what the rat tendon work actually measured in c/bpc157 · 5 points · 9 days ago

Bought small, tested identity first, and only then thought about anything else. That order felt right.

permalink

comment on muscle cramps turned out to be sodium, not magnesium in c/sideeffects · 14 points · 11 days ago

That symptom is not the one being described upthread.

slow_logbook_ftw is right about the timing. The day-of-week pattern is the diagnostic bit, not the severity.

permalink

comment on [Meta] how the ranking actually works, with the formula in c/meta · 2 points · 14 days ago

Agreed. Publishing the ranking formula is the difference between a feed and a black box, and it costs nothing to do.

permalink

comment on [Concluded] 104 weeks. final numbers. thanks for reading. in c/dosinglogs · 1 points · 18 days ago

the value of a log is in month six, not week one

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we have no vocabulary for success that is not a number going down in c/maintenancephase · 9 points · 18 days ago

Agreed that a few kilos of drift is ordinary. Weight is not a fixed number even for people who have never taken anything.

permalink

comment on is fatigue a side effect or am i just eating 900 calories in c/sideeffects · 2 points · 18 days ago

Most of the common complaints trace back to slowed gastric emptying — early fullness, reflux, nausea after a large or fatty meal. That is also why meal size and speed change the experience more than anything else.

permalink

comment on glucagon receptor agonism raising energy expenditure — how solid is that in c/glp1science · 106 points · 19 days ago

Receptor expression in a tissue is necessary but not sufficient for an effect. You also need the agonist to reach it at relevant exposure, and that is where a lot of confident mechanism talk falls down.

comment on BPC-157: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/bpc157 · 13 points · 22 days ago

Right, and regulatory status has genuinely moved in several jurisdictions. Answers from three years ago may be wrong now.

Agreed that a few kilos of drift is ordinary. Weight is not a fixed number even for people who have never taken anything.

permalink

find the dose that holds, then stop optimising

permalink

comment on [Meta] the handling rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/researchpeptides · 4 points · 1 months ago

What reference standard was the assay run against?

permalink

comment on [Question] nausea — what am I missing here in c/sideeffects · 8 points · 1 months ago

the sulphur burps that arrives at week 75 out of nowhere is usually something else

permalink

comment on [Question] nausea — what am I missing here in c/sideeffects · 3 points · 1 months ago

Correction: that is a known effect of reduced intake rather than a direct drug effect. The distinction matters because the fix is different.

permalink

comment on stalled for 9 weeks at 1.0mg and I refuse to panic this time in c/bpc157 · 4 points · 1 months ago

Research-use-only material is not approved for human use.

Agreed — and the preclinical to clinical gap is where nearly all the overclaiming happens.

permalink

comment on reading goal weight threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/maintenancephase · 75 points · 1 months ago

Withdrawal studies in this class consistently show substantial regain after discontinuation.

Agreed — and appetite is the leading indicator. The scale is the lagging one.

permalink

comment on stalled for 9 weeks at 1.0mg and I refuse to panic this time in c/bpc157 · 6 points · 1 months ago

Careful. Regulatory status differs by jurisdiction and has changed; a confident global statement is going to be wrong somewhere.

permalink

comment on the reflux question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/sideeffects · 67 points · 1 months ago

the food noise going quiet is the effect people came for, and sulphur burps are the toll for the first fortnight

permalink

comment on the reflux question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/sideeffects · -2 points · 1 months ago

Right, and the hair thing is worth repeating: it tracks the rate of loss rather than the compound, and it stops.

permalink

comment on dose history is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/dosinglogs · 5 points · 1 months ago

one line a week beats a spreadsheet you abandon

permalink

comment on constipation: what the trials say vs what this community says in c/sideeffects · 16 points · 1 months ago

Kept a one-line-a-day log for two months. The pattern was obvious on paper and invisible in my head.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about lost money until somebody posts a number in c/darkspot · 5 points · 1 months ago

Gently disagree with the self-blame. What you describe is a procedural gap, and the procedure was not written down anywhere for you to follow.

permalink

comment on hair loss: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/sideeffects · 400 points · 2 months ago

Cosigning the fibre and water answer. Unglamorous, free, and it fixed it for me inside a week.

comment on help me understand T2D, I have read the wiki twice in c/t2dglp1 · 10 points · 2 months ago

Postprandial excursions flattened out first and the fasting number took months to follow. Nobody had told me to expect that order.

permalink

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about fatigue in c/sideeffects · 12 points · 2 months ago

The fatigue turned out to be that I was eating about a third of what I thought I was. Tracked it for a week and the mystery evaporated.

permalink

comment on why does nobody talk about BPC-157 in c/bpc157 · 39 points · 2 months ago

Short peptides in solution are subject to hydrolysis and, depending on sequence, oxidation. Storage state and time in solution are practical variables that this board almost never discusses.
