comment on ApoB over LDL-C and i will keep saying it in c/bloodwork · 2 points · 2 days ago

Disagree with reading anything into that. One value, one morning, and you changed two other things in the same window.

Push back: PCOS as a diagnosis and insulin resistance as a finding are not interchangeable, and the thread is using them as one.

potency testing on the finished preparation is the thing to ask for

503A is patient-specific, 503B is outsourcing facility, they are not the same thing

Disagree that a lower number is automatically worse. A conservative claim that survives testing is worth more than an optimistic one that does not.

comment on [Explainer] the four things a COA must have or it is decorative in c/coa · 1 points · 16 days ago

That is the catalogue certificate rather than the batch-specific one. Same layout, completely different status.

comment on [Question] hair shedding — is it the drug or the deficit in c/glp1women · 45 points · 18 days ago

Have you asked a pharmacist about the absorption question specifically?

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring compounding at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/compounding · 0 points · 28 days ago

Disagree — a 503B being registered does not make its preparations equivalent to an approved product.

Disagreeing with this bit: registration is not equivalence, and the two get run together constantly.

comment on [COA] full document, nothing cropped, tell me what i am missing in c/coa · 15 points · 29 days ago

UV at 214nm sees the peptide bond and picks up almost everything; at 280nm you are looking at aromatics only. Which wavelength the number came from is part of the number.

comment on identity and quantity are two questions and most COAs answer one in c/coa · 33 points · 1 months ago

I would not read a rounded figure as evasive. Plenty of documents round to one decimal as house style.

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring half-life at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/glp1science · 0 points · 1 months ago

This. Albumin binding and modification are why the half-life is what it is, and it is a design decision rather than an accident.

same lab, same conditions, or you are comparing noise

gastric emptying slows, it does not stop

formulary_fighter is right that mechanism gives direction and not magnitude. Worth pinning.

Did you ask for the batch-specific document, or is this the catalogue one?

permalink

fasting state and time of day change more than people expect

Agreed — and standardising the draw conditions is the cheapest improvement available.

comment on reading certificate of analysis threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/coa · 8 points · 3 months ago

Disagree that a lower number is automatically worse. A conservative claim that survives testing is worth more than an optimistic one that does not.

The shortage list is the legal hinge: the permissions that allow certain compounding to happen at scale are tied to a drug’s shortage status, which changes.

LC-MS gives you identity; UV purity gives you a relative quantity. A document with the first and not the second, or the reverse, is answering half the question.

Push back: a value just outside a reference interval is a common finding in healthy people. It is a reason to repeat.
