comment on [Long Term] found my lowest effective dose by going down, not up in c/maintenancephase · 111 points · 10 days ago

Maintenance is the phase with the least published guidance and the most individual variation, which is precisely why board consensus here is worth less than usual.

comment on why does nobody talk about private prescription in c/glp1uk · 55 points · 1 months ago

Supply notices from the regulator describe expected availability at a national level. They do not predict what any individual pharmacy has on the shelf next week.

permalink

comment on [Question] do you tell new people how long this actually is in c/maintenancephase · 3 points · 1 months ago

This. The withdrawal data is not ambiguous and framing regain as a personal failure is both wrong and cruel.

comment on how much of what we believe about MHRA actually comes from NHS threads in c/glp1uk · 79 points · 1 months ago

Discharged at goal back to the GP, who would not continue it. Nobody had mentioned that this was how it ends.

comment on [Discussion] the MHRA advice in here is 3 years out of date in c/glp1uk · 6 points · 1 months ago

Which pharmacy, and what did they quote for the month rather than the first month?

What timeframe is that over?

permalink

comment on [Struggle] regained 6kg over a winter and i am posting it anyway in c/progresspics · 55 points · 2 months ago

Body weight varies by a couple of kilos day to day through fluid, glycogen and gut content, which is why a single weigh-in is noise and a fortnightly trend is signal.

comment on am I the only one who found long term harder than the injections in c/maintenancephase · 45 points · 3 months ago

Did you decide what maintenance would look like before you got here?

Adding one thing — decide what maintenance looks like before you arrive at it.

inter-lab variance runs a point or two, plan your outrage accordingly

permalink

comment on purity — 20 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/labresults · 2 points · 4 months ago

Disagreeing with this line: that gap is ordinary variance, not a contradiction between the lab and the certificate.

This is why the template has a batch field. Without it the result is about a vial nobody can identify.

comment on [Discussion] state board is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/compounding · 459 points · 4 months ago

Nothing in this thread is medical advice, and the choice between arrangements is one for you and a prescriber who knows your history.

comment on help me understand tier 3, I have read the wiki twice in c/glp1uk · 7 points · 4 months ago

an online consultation that asks you nothing is not a consultation

permalink

comment on [PSA] pricing is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/glp1uk · 1 points · 5 months ago

Not convinced — the US threads are a different system entirely and importing their advice here does real harm.

permalink

comment on small win: maintenance stopped being a problem at week 92 in c/maintenancephase · 3 points · 5 months ago

Yes. The habits have to outlive the dose or the maintenance phase is just a countdown.

private and NHS pathways are not a ladder, they are separate routes

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about NHS actually comes from pharmacy threads in c/glp1uk · -21 points · 7 months ago

Pharmacy pricing on a private prescription is set by the pharmacy. The spread between them in a given month is routinely substantial, which is why a tracker built from member reports is more useful than any headline.

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about 503B until somebody posts a number in c/compounding · 2 points · 7 months ago

Switched between two compounded preparations and the concentration on the label was different. Redid the arithmetic on paper before drawing anything.

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring long term at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/maintenancephase · 10 points · 7 months ago

stretching the interval is not the same as reducing the dose

copay_card_cc is right that stretching and reducing are different levers. Worth separating in every one of these threads.

comment on the Janoshik question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/labresults · 1 points · 7 months ago

Push back: three tests on one lot is one lot. It tells you about that lot and almost nothing about the next one.

permalink

comment on genuine question about tier 3 that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/glp1uk · 18 points · 7 months ago

Right, and reading the actual supply notice rather than the coverage of it saves a fortnight of speculation.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring dose stretching at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/maintenancephase · 2 points · 8 months ago

Agreed that a few kilos of drift is ordinary.

Adding one thing — decide what maintenance looks like before you arrive at it.

permalink

comment on the 503A question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/compounding · 1 points · 9 months ago

Yes — asking which facility, by name, is the single most useful question and most clinics will answer it.

permalink

comment on does regain actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/maintenancephase · 21 points · 9 months ago

Drifted up 11kg over a winter and panicked. It came back off without any change, which is apparently just what weight does.

permalink

None of this is a taper plan. What dose holds for you is a question for somebody with your history in front of them.

comment on the 503B thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/compounding · 40 points · 10 months ago

Kept the label from every vial. When the shortage status changed, having the paper trail made the conversation much shorter.

permalink

comment on why does nobody talk about pricing in c/glp1uk · 37 points · 11 months ago

Disagree. That is the pathway in one ICB and it does not generalise even to the next one over.

permalink

What is the beyond-use date and what is it based on?

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring 503B at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/compounding · 20 points · 11 months ago

compounded is not generic, there is no equivalence claim

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify pharmacy in c/glp1uk · 480 points · 11 months ago

Concentrations can differ between products and between pharmacies. Switching mid-titration means redoing the arithmetic rather than carrying the old unit count across.

permalink

comment on does compounding actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/compounding · 0 points · 1 year ago

do not assume the concentration matches the branded product

Agreed — and the follow-up question is what the beyond-use date is based on.

comment on someone explain PeptideMeter to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/labresults · 12 points · 1 year ago

Cosigning on saying who paid. It is the whole basis on which this log is worth anything.

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about purity actually comes from PeptideMeter threads in c/labresults · 0 points · 1 year ago

Chain of custody is why member-funded testing is worth more than a supplied certificate: the vial tested is the vial that arrived at a member’s door.

Adding the boring but useful bit: say whether you paid for it. It is the basis of the whole log.
