Orthostatic dizziness turned out to be dehydration plus a blood pressure med I no longer needed.

the archive-after-a-year policy is deliberate

and mine was partly dehydration and partly a BP med that had become too strong. edit: three of the four "is this the drug" questions i have asked turned out to be something adjacent.

you cannot report to two decimals off that baseline

adjacent one worth flagging: my dizziness turned out to be a blood pressure med that was now too strong for my weight. also not a forum question, also fixed in one appointment.

a rule you cannot inspect is just a preference

network and address, checked twice, before anything else

What is prompting the decision — cost, supply, side effects, or something else?

How old is the column and roughly how many injections has it seen?
comment on [Meta] we crossed 800k members and nothing about the rules changes in c/meta · 7 points · 1 months ago
Agreed that the top comment is not the best answer. The ranking optimises for early agreement.
comment on genuine question about purity that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/hplc · 161 points · 1 months ago
This. A shoulder that does not baseline-resolve is a question, not a quantity.

two labs, two gradients, two honest answers

Agreed that quote expiry is ordinary.
Agreed — and the hash is the receipt. Nothing else is.

comment on [Discussion] the crypto advice in here is 3 years out of date in c/cryptopay · 112 points · 3 months ago
Yes — gas is the network’s, not the supplier’s, and conflating them produces a lot of unfair complaints.

screenshot the transaction hash, not the wallet balance

Do you have the mass, or only the UV trace?

report the method or do not report the number
rosa_sandvik is right — the integration choice is a decision and it should be stated alongside the result.

What did system suitability look like on that sequence?

Did you run a blank between injections?

Bought a second-hand instrument and learned more in six months of fixing it than in three years of reading traces.

modmail first, always, and the thread second

Stretched from seven days to ten to twelve over four months. Appetite told me where the limit was each time.

Have you taken this to modmail first?

The system suitability argument, since it comes up whenever somebody posts a number without one.
Adding one practical thing — run the blank. It answers this before anyone has to argue about it.

Ran a blank after a high-concentration injection and found the carryover I had been calling an impurity.

This. Modmail first is not bureaucracy; it stops individual cases turning into a public pile-on.

Stopped abruptly once and gradually once. The gradual one was easier to interpret because I could see what was changing.

The habits are what carried it for a while. When they slipped, everything else followed, in that order.

Correction: that is a tailing factor, not a plate count. Different diagnostics for different problems.
comment on the HPLC question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/hplc · 13 points · 1 year ago
Small fix — 214nm, not 210. It matters for the comparison you are making with the other run.

Sent the same vial to PeptideMeter and Medutest.
Agreed. And the corollary is that the method line on a certificate is not decoration, it is the number’s provenance.

Proposed a rule change here with actual wording and it was adopted. That is the process working and it is not fast.
