why does nobody talk about discontinuation

Questionbranch of 15 comments

why does nobody talk about discontinuation. Searched first, found three threads that contradict each other, hence the post. With a week-long half-life, exposure declines over several weeks after the last dose rather than stopping with it. The lag is why the first fortnight is uninformative. Preparing to stop, as…

Not convinced. Two weeks of stable weight is not evidence of anything yet.

decide what you are watching for before you stop

Correcting myself upthread: appetite returned at week 18 for me, not the week I posted.

interval stretching is the most commonly described approach here

Disagree with the framing. Regain is the documented outcome after discontinuation; calling it a personal failure is both wrong and corrosive.

Disagree with the framing.

arne_amankwah is right that regain is a documented outcome rather than a character verdict.

Nothing on this board is a taper schedule, and no member can write one for another. What can be shared is what people watched and what they observed.

About c/tapering

Stopping on purpose: dose reduction versus interval stretching, what the discontinuation arms of STEP 1 and SURMOUNT-4 actually showed about regain, appetite return timelines, and the people who came off, regained, and went back on without treating it as a failure.

c/tapering rules
  1. Cite the discontinuation data rather than guessing at regain rates.
  2. No shaming people who restart.
  3. Say how long you were on and at what dose before you tapered.
  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  7. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
  8. No contact handles, wallet addresses or tracking numbers — they identify people.
