[PSA] 0.25 for four weeks is not a suggestion, it is the whole plan
0.25 for four weeks is not a suggestion, it is the whole plan. Two minutes of reading now saves an argument later.
reflux made the first fortnight rough at each step up, then flattened out. Predictable enough that I started planning around it.
What I would tell week-one me, in order of how much time it would have saved.
One: the first month is a tolerance check. You are finding out whether you can take this, not how much you will lose. Two: write down the dose, the day and the waist measurement. Three: a stall of under six weeks is weather, not climate. Four: sulphur burps that arrives the day after the shot and fades by day four is the ordinary pattern and it usually settles at a stable dose.
None of that is advice about what you should do. It is the shape of the thing, which nobody explained to me and which the wiki explains better than I just did.
The weekly interval comes out of the half-life — roughly a week — so you are on a smooth curve rather than a series of spikes. That is also why moving your day slightly does very little.
Corrections welcome, especially the pedantic ones. Pedantry is how this board earns its reputation.
best — the order this archive was captured in
Steady state after a dose change takes four to five half-lives, so the fair judgement point on a new step is about a month, not four days.
Removed the dose recommendation. You can describe what you did; you cannot tell somebody else what to take.
nausea that arrives on day two and fades by day four is the standard shape
sema is weekly for a reason, the half-life does the smoothing
Weight change and appetite change are different endpoints on different timescales. Conflating them is where most of the confusion on this board starts.
Correct, and worth adding: the trial average is an average. Half the people in it did worse than 15% and were still on the drug.
What did week 40 look like compared with this one? The month either side is the useful comparison.
Genuine question — is the appetite effect still there, or is it just the scale that has paused?
That figure is the 68-week trial mean, not a weekly rate. Dividing it by the weeks gives you a number that does not mean anything.
Careful. A four-week stall is inside normal variation and treating it as failure is how people escalate for no reason.
This matches me almost exactly, right down to the food noise showing up on the second day and being gone by the fourth.
Same injection day each week, or has it drifted?
The escalation schedule in the trials existed to keep people on the drug. It is a tolerability ramp, and it is why the label reads the way it does.
Disagree. 2.4 is the top of the label, not the goal, and "everyone ends up there" is just survivorship in the posts you read.
