comment on [Formulary] provincial differences, mapped, with dates in c/glp1canada · 0 points · 2 days ago

Is there a quantity limit involved rather than a coverage refusal?

comment on [PBS] listing status and what it actually does to out-of-pocket in c/glp1aus · 1 points · 2 days ago

This. New Zealand has its own regulator and its own funding decisions and the answers genuinely differ.

Small fix — amylin analogue, not a GLP-1 analogue. The whole mechanism argument changes on that word.

a streamlined authority code is not the same as a general listing

Yes — a logger in the box turns a fortnight of speculation into a chart.

Kept a vial at room temperature for eleven days by accident. Tested it out of guilt. It was fine.

That is the ambient temperature at the destination, not the temperature inside the box. The logger measures the second one.

Ordered from the warehouse in Poland instead of origin and the transit went from a fortnight to 8 days. Entirely different proposition in August.

That percentage is body weight change, not body fat. Different measurement, and the distinction gets lost every time.

comment on the province question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/glp1canada · 33 points · 28 days ago

A rejected claim at the pharmacy counter and a denied authorization are different events with different remedies. The first can be an administrative or quantity issue; the second is a determination you can appeal.

Push back: "gentler than sema" is a population statement. Plenty of people on this board have the opposite experience and they are not doing it wrong.

2.5 is the starter dose and it is not meant to be the dose that works

switching from sema is not a dose conversion, there is no clean equivalence

Agreed, with one qualifier: that is the mean of the top arm and the spread around it was enormous.

permalink

comment on anyone else notice oral GLP-1 kicking in around week 56 in c/orforglipron · 14 points · 1 months ago

Yes. Oral peptide with an absorption enhancer and oral small molecule are completely different propositions.

permalink

comment on anyone else notice oral GLP-1 kicking in around week 56 in c/orforglipron · 1 points · 1 months ago

Oral semaglutide is a peptide co-formulated with an absorption enhancer and carries food and water timing requirements.

This is the fact the whole board hangs on. Small molecule, not peptide.

permalink

comment on help me understand New Zealand, I have read the wiki twice in c/glp1aus · 9 points · 1 months ago

Disagree — that is registration status, and the question was about subsidy.

This is the distinction that makes the rest of the board legible.

Those criteria were revised at renewal, so the version quoted upthread is out of date.

Adding the fastest step — ask the pharmacist. They can usually check in minutes.

A written baseline — dose, date, weight, waist, and how appetite feels — taken before any change is what makes the following months interpretable rather than a series of impressions.

permalink

comment on [Question] PBS — what am I missing here in c/glp1aus · 23 points · 2 months ago

comment on [PSA] cold chain is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/coldchain · 27 points · 2 months ago

A stability statement is only meaningful with its conditions attached: temperature, duration, light exposure, and whether it covers powder or solution. Ask which.
