Same machine, same clinic, same protocol. Same hydration and fasting state, as far as you can manage. At least three to four months apart, because the measurement error is large relative to short-term change. Three scans rather than two, because the first pair cannot distinguish a trend from noise.

Do less than that and you have two numbers with an offset of unknown size, which people then react to by rebuilding a training programme. The free alternative — a few tracked lifts and a monthly waist measurement — is directionally informative, costs nothing, and is far harder to over-interpret.

Yes — asking which facility, by name, is the single most useful question and most clinics will answer it.

Why "compounded" is not "generic", written out because the confusion is constant.

A generic is an approved product demonstrated to be bioequivalent to a reference. A compounded preparation is made for a patient or, in the case of an outsourcing facility, under a different regulatory route entirely. It carries no equivalence claim and it is not required to demonstrate one.

That is not a quality judgement. Plenty of compounded preparations are made carefully in facilities with real testing programmes. It is a statement about what has and has not been established, and the difference matters when people assume the two are interchangeable.

A step up is followed by a rough window — commonly constipation arriving the day after the shot and easing by day four, worst in the first fortnight, then flattening out. At a stable dose it usually settles further. Constipation and fatigue tend to track intake and fluid rather than the compound directly, which is why the unglamorous answers work.

What sits outside that pattern: severe pain, symptoms that appear from nowhere weeks into a stable dose, or anything getting worse rather than better over a month. None of that is a board question and none of us can answer it for you.

Interval stretching changes the exposure profile: with a week-long half-life, moving to ten or twelve days lowers trough concentration more than it lowers average exposure. That is why appetite return is often the first thing noticed.

Disagree — a 503B being registered does not make its preparations equivalent to an approved product. Different regulatory category entirely.

Registration means a product may lawfully be supplied. Subsidy listing means the public system will fund it, for a defined indication, against published criteria. They are made by different bodies on different timetables, and a product can be registered and unsubsidised for a given use for a long time.
