Slightly embarrassed to be asking this, but: how much of what we believe about VendorInvestigate actually comes from testing threads. Regional stock made more…

Did you ask for the batch-specific certificate, or the generic one?
comment on three years of concentration threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/reconstitution · 8 points · 6 months ago
Correction: that gives 10 units, not what you have written. 20mg into 1mL is 20mg/mL and the division follows from there.

comment on [Meta] the gallbladder rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/sideeffects · 470 points · 6 months ago
On buying things to fix side effects, which I did extensively and would not do again.
The interventions that changed anything for me were all behavioural and free: smaller meals, eating slower, stopping food a few hours before sleep, more fibre and considerably more water. The things I bought did nothing I could detect, and I was motivated to detect something.
The other lever, which people forget, is time at dose. Holding rather than stepping is a legitimate plan and it fixed my tolerance where nothing else did.
comment on [Discussion] we are measuring New Zealand at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/glp1aus · 15 points · 6 months ago
Correction: that is the registration decision, not the subsidy listing.
This is the distinction that makes the rest of the board legible.

Agreed on the swirl. There is no reason to shake it and a good reason not to.

Pushback on the syringe advice: a U-100 barrel reads units of volume. Calling them "doses" is how the confusion starts.

Minimum order and lead time — did they quote both up front?

Core Peptides came up in three threads the week I was ordering and I could not find a single independent result for them anywhere. Went with a documented supplier instead.

Yes — the day-two-to-day-four window is so consistent across this board that it is almost diagnostic.

write down when it starts and stops, the pattern is the useful part

That is sterile water, not bacteriostatic. Same appearance, different product, and it matters for a multi-draw vial.

Why the directory has two tiers, since the question comes up whenever somebody new finds it.
Twenty suppliers have enough independent results, over enough separate lots, over enough time, that the log says something. Those get a page, a test table and a link to their own storefront so you can compare their claims with the record.
The rest — nearly two hundred names — get a row, a band and a report count. Not because they are bad, but because two results is an anecdote about a vial. Manufacturing a score out of that would make the whole directory worthless, and the contrast is the point.

Rang three pharmacies for a private price and got three different numbers, all in the same city.
comment on [Question] how do you actually verify order records in c/vendorvetting · 416 points · 1 year ago
Independent testing is worth more than a supplied certificate for one structural reason: the chain of custody. A member who buys, ships and pays is testing the same thing you would receive.
comment on [Question] how do you actually verify bacteriostatic water in c/reconstitution · 0 points · 1 year ago
Disagree with the "more water is safer" framing. It is not safer, it is just a different number to divide by.

Same view. A record you can read beats a rating you cannot inspect, every time.

Small fix — a U-100 syringe is 100 units per mL. If yours is marked differently it is not U-100 and the whole calculation changes.
Posting this as a discussion rather than a claim: the insulin syringe question that gets asked weekly, answered properly. Why "more water" keeps confusing people,…

comment on units are the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/reconstitution · 1 points · 1 year ago
Research-use-only material is not approved for human use, so treat everything in this thread as arithmetic about solutions rather than instructions for a person.
comment on shortage is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/glp1aus · 70 points · 1 year ago
Where to look instead of asking, which will nearly always be faster.
The national shortage database is public, searchable and carries expected resolution dates. The subsidy criteria for each indication are published. Your pharmacist can check wholesaler availability in a few minutes, which is a different question from what is on the shelf.
Between those three, most questions on this board are answerable in half an hour with primary sources. The board is genuinely useful for experience, pricing comparison and the parts that are not written down anywhere — it is a poor substitute for a document that exists.

Aim the stream down the wall of the vial rather than into the cake. Reconstitution is a solubility problem, not a mixing problem, and mechanical shear does nothing helpful.

Kept a one-line-a-day log for two months. The pattern was obvious on paper and invisible in my head.
comment on the TGA thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/glp1aus · 71 points · 1 year ago
The two decisions that this whole board turns on, kept apart.
Registration means a product may lawfully be supplied. Subsidy listing means the public system will fund it, for a defined indication, against published criteria. They are made by different bodies on different timetables, and a product can be registered and unsubsidised for a given use for a long time.
Almost every "why can I not get this" thread here is really a question about the second decision being answered with facts about the first. Say which one you are asking about and the thread resolves in two replies.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about mg/mL until somebody posts a number in c/reconstitution · 333 points · 1 year ago
Spent 20 weeks confused about this until somebody drew the table for me. 30mg, 1mL, 30mg/mL, 1.5mg is 5 units. That is the whole thing.
