comment on [Regret] went 0.25 → 1.0 in three weeks and learned why that is dumb in c/darkspot · 118 points · 2 days ago

i had not thought about it that way and it is genuinely the clearest explanation of what i did wrong. i skipped a dose i had not met.

same, and "settled once i stopped escalating" is the phrase i wish i had read at week four instead of week fourteen.

nothing here is available as a prescription product, so read every thread with that in mind

comment on [Discussion] should this community stop using the word "relapse" for regain at all in c/tapering · 54 points · 3 days ago

can confirm from the inside, "relapse" is the word that made my own posts feel heavier than they needed to, "regain" feels like a fact, "relapse" feels like a verdict

knowing it's "expected" and having it not hurt any less are two different things, but I appreciate you saying it, helps a little

this is survivorship bias in reverse and it is the reason the fast approach looks more common than it is.

thank you, genuinely, half of what I needed was just someone not immediately trying to fix it

ha, love that you exist and read this, and thank you, took a while to get to this framing honestly

completely fair, and yes there's room, I still have bad days about it, "no shame" was more about not treating it as a moral failure, not a demand that anyone feel fine about it constantly

I would be careful here.

This is the shape almost everybody here describes, and it is the single most reassuring thing in the thread.

Where a supplier has no independent testing on file, that is a statement about the evidence and not about their conduct. Saying it the second way is how this board would stop being useful.

What do you think the glucagon component is adding, specifically?

comment on is it normal to get muscle cramps at week 85 in c/retatrutide · 6 points · 21 days ago

Glucagon receptor agonism is associated with increased energy expenditure and with hepatic effects. That is a mechanistic story with strong preclinical support and limited phase 2 human data.

Sceptical of the extrapolation. Forty-eight weeks does not tell you about seventy-two, and the curve shape is exactly what is unknown.

Same read. The energy-expenditure mechanism is the interesting bit and it is not established in humans at scale.

A symptom that begins the day after the shot and fades by day four tracks the exposure curve. One that appears at random in week 67 probably does not, and that is worth saying to a clinician rather than to us.

Watched heart rate on a wearable across twelve weeks because the threads said to. It moved a little and I have no idea whether that means anything.

Which phase 2 arm are you quoting, and at what week?

permalink

Phase 2 estimates effect and finds a dose range.

Agreed, and the glucagon arm is exactly why the comparison threads do not work.

Left up, flaired Correction. The original stays with it — that is how this board works.

Nothing containing this compound is approved anywhere. Research-use-only material is not approved for human use, and that is a statement of fact rather than a disclaimer.

Removed the escalation schedule. There is no published protocol for members to follow and inventing one here is exactly what this board does not do.

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about what went wrong is guesswork in c/darkspot · 89 points · 3 months ago

The pattern in the money-loss posts, since there is one.

Almost none of them involve a documented supplier with an independent testing record. They involve an unfamiliar shop, a price that seemed good, a decision made in a hurry, and no small first order.

The procedural fix is the one this site keeps repeating: buy small from anybody new, ask for a batch-specific document before paying, test what arrives, and only then commit. It is boring, it costs a small order, and it would have prevented most of what is written on this board. Where a name has nothing verifiable on file, that is a statement about the evidence available rather than about anyone’s conduct — and keeping that distinction is why these reports stay useful.
