we are measuring long term at the wrong time and calling it noise, and I am aware this is a minority view on this board. Chased the last three kilos with a dose…

The quiet in my head is the effect nobody warned me about. Still the best part.

Adding the standing caveat — research material is not approved for human use, wherever you are.

That comparison is between two different products at two different concentrations, which is where the confusion is coming from.

Salt form matters for mass: a preparation specified as one salt and dosed as the free base gives you a different amount of peptide for the same number on the label.

Correction: that trial measured regain after withdrawal, not failure of the drug during treatment. Very different claim.

That is a range, not a trend. Two weigh-ins 11 days apart cannot distinguish them.

Removed the taper schedule aimed at another member.
This reframing is the most useful thing on the board for anyone approaching this phase.
comment on am I the only one who found goal weight harder than the injections in c/maintenancephase · 78 points · 7 months ago
Appetite returning before the scale moves follows from the mechanism: the appetite effect is the proximal one and weight is the lagging integrated outcome.

Severe or persistent abdominal pain sits outside the pattern this board can usefully discuss. The honest answer there is that it needs someone who can examine you.

quantity limits are as common a barrier as coverage itself
milos_vestergaard is right that a rejected claim and a denied authorization are different animals.
Thinking out loud about this: unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about Canada is guesswork. Formulary criteria are revised, and plan renewal is a natural…
comment on the constipation thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/sideeffects · 33 points · 9 months ago
The effect on gastric emptying is most pronounced early and attenuates with continued dosing, which is the mechanism behind the "it settles at a stable dose" pattern the whole board reports.

The injection was scarier in my head than in reality. It took about ten seconds and I felt slightly silly afterwards.

On buying things to fix side effects, which I did extensively and would not do again.
The interventions that changed anything for me were all behavioural and free: smaller meals, eating slower, stopping food a few hours before sleep, more fibre and considerably more water. The things I bought did nothing I could detect, and I was motivated to detect something.
The other lever, which people forget, is time at dose. Holding rather than stepping is a legitimate plan and it fixed my tolerance where nothing else did.

Retitled — this is maintenance, not a plateau, and the original framing was doing damage.

Careful — that is a dosing recommendation dressed as an anecdote, and this board removes those.

comment on help me understand nausea, I have read the wiki twice in c/sideeffects · 0 points · 1 year ago
Keeping a log, and what to put in it.
One line a day: dose, day since injection, what the symptom was and how bad out of five, and roughly what you ate. Two months of that fits on one page and the pattern is obvious on paper in a way it never is in your head.
Mine showed a clean day-two-to-day-four window I had been describing as "random". Once you can see the pattern you can plan around it, and planning around it is most of the relief.
comment on help me understand nausea, I have read the wiki twice in c/sideeffects · 56 points · 1 year ago
I would be careful here. "Everyone gets this" is not true, and it makes the people who get something unusual assume they are fine when they should be asking.
comment on [Question] how do you actually verify sequence in c/bpc157 · 59 points · 1 year ago
The three questions, kept separate, because this board runs them together constantly.
Identity: is this the sequence I ordered? Answered by mass spectrometry against a theoretical mass. Quantity: how much peptide is in the vial? Answered by net peptide content, not by area percent. Stability: what happens to it in solution over time? Answered by a stability statement with conditions attached, and almost never asked for.
A certificate that answers one of the three is common. One that answers all three is rare and worth choosing a supplier over. Nothing here is approved for human use in any case, so all three are questions about material rather than about anything else.
