What this community is for
Clinical trial reading group. New readouts, protocol amendments, endpoint definitions, dropout handling, and the difference between a press release and a publication. Absolute risk reduction and number-needed-to-treat are house dialect here.
c/trialwatch was created on 4 Nov 2023 and currently has 33,900 members and 95 captured submissions. It sits in the second tier of the site, which mostly affects how fast a question gets answered rather than how well.
The one-line version
STEP, SURMOUNT, SURPASS, SELECT, FLOW, TRIUMPH — read the appendix.
Rules, and why each exists
Community rules come first, then the six site-wide rules that apply everywhere on GLP Research Hub. Community rules are enforced by the moderators listed at the bottom of this page; site rules are enforced by everyone.
- Press-release-only posts must be flaired Press Release until a publication exists.
- Give the trial name, phase, n, and primary endpoint in the body.
- Relative risk reduction alone is not a result. Show the absolute numbers.
And the site rules, which are short on purpose:
- Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
- Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
- Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
- No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
- No contact handles, wallet addresses or tracking numbers — they identify people.
- Be recognisably decent. Disagree hard, insult nobody.

Asked constantly
- [Question] how do you actually verify SURPASS
- [Question] endpoint — what am I missing here
- [Question] how do you actually verify SURPASS
- [Question] how do you actually verify SURPASS
- [Question] how do you actually verify SURPASS
If your question is on that list, read the answers there first. If it is not, ask it — that is what the community is for, and "this has been asked" is only a helpful reply when it comes with a link.
Who runs this
Moderation here is done by volunteers who also post as normal members. They are not clinicians, not vendors, and not paid.
- u/trialwatch_theo — I read the supplementary appendix so you do not have to. Pre-registration or it is a hypothesis.
- u/forest_plot_fiona — Confidence intervals are the entire story. The point estimate is the headline.
- u/hazard_ratio_hal — Relative risk reduction sells papers. Absolute risk reduction makes decisions.
- u/renal_outcomes_r — FLOW changed how I think about eGFR slope. Renal endpoints deserve more airtime.
Wiki pages are community-maintained summaries, not clinical guidance. If a wiki page and your clinician disagree, your clinician wins.
