comment on glucagon co-agonism has its own safety story, stop generalising from tirz in c/survodutide · 3 points · 4 days ago

It is a dual agonist at the GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. The glucagon arm is associated with increased energy expenditure and with effects on hepatic fat, which is why the development programme is oriented towards liver disease.

I would not skip the peer-to-peer. It is often the fastest route and it costs a phone call.

Prior authorisation criteria are republished each plan year. A criterion that blocked you in one year may not exist in the next, so a denial is worth retesting after the turnover.

Area percent is the peak area of your compound over the total integrated area, at one wavelength, on one gradient. It is a relative measure of what the detector saw, not a mass fraction of the vial.

Inter-lab variance on this assay runs a point or two either way. Two services disagreeing by that much is agreement, not a discrepancy, and treating it otherwise starts pointless arguments.

Careful. "Nobody has tested Paradigm Peptide" is a statement about this board, not about the supplier. Say the first thing, not the second.

Quoted a figure here confidently, got asked whether it was ITT, went and checked, and it was not. Learned something.

Kept a log with every date, name of department and reference number. When they claimed no record of a call, I had the reference.

LC-MS gives you identity; UV purity gives you a relative quantity. A document with the first and not the second, or the reverse, is answering half the question.

Assumed regulatory status was static and it was not. Checked again this year and the answer had changed where I live.

Push back: your plan is an employer plan, which changes both the appeal path and who the regulator is.

It is a fifteen-residue peptide with a published sequence, which makes synthesis straightforward and makes identity verification the meaningful test rather than an optional extra.

Net peptide content is the fraction of the powder that is actually peptide once counterion, water and residual solvent are accounted for. A 99% pure acetate salt can still be about 85% peptide by mass.

Yes — and the reason to ask for the whole page is that the interesting parts are the ones people crop out to fit a screenshot.

comment on someone explain vendor to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/vendorvetting · 1 points · 7 months ago

Disagree that reviews are worthless. They are worthless when they say "fast shipping A+++". A dated one naming a compound and a document is evidence.

permalink

comment on [Vendor] KP vs BCH on the same compound, same month — both cleared 97.5% in c/coa · 148 points · 8 months ago

Not quite. Two labs with different gradients can resolve a close-eluting impurity differently and both be reporting honestly.

Asked QSC for the batch-specific certificate and had the full document — batch, date, method line naming the column — inside six hours. That is now my baseline for everybody.

hplc_hobbyist is right that this is documentation rather than persuasion. It took me a year to accept that.

Adding the practical version: ask for lead time, minimum quantity and the batch record in the same message. Three answers, one email.
