comment on amylin is not a GLP-1 and the co-agonism story is more interesting than the weight number in c/cagrilintide · 8 points · 1 days ago

Sent a vial to Medutest because there was almost nothing on file for this compound. 98.9% against a claimed 98.5%, and I posted it because the log needs entries.

nothing containing this is approved as a standalone product

That result is preclinical. Worth flagging, since the thread has been reading it as human data.

Not convinced by that DEXA comparison. Different machine, different protocol, and the difference is inside the error.

comment on help me understand Canada, I have read the wiki twice in c/glp1canada · 3 points · 12 days ago

I would not read one pharmacy’s cash price as the going rate. The spread is real.

comment on why does nobody talk about province in c/glp1canada · 9 points · 18 days ago

Yes. Approval and coverage are separate, and this board conflates them in about half its threads.

comment on [Question] Poland — has anyone got a straight answer on special authorization in c/glp1canada · 3 points · 23 days ago

Kept every form and reference number. When they had no record of a submission, I did.

Formulary criteria are revised, and plan renewal is a natural point at which a previously refused request may succeed without anything about the applicant changing.

Careful — that is a dosing intuition carried over from another board and there is no basis for it here.

Small fix — the figure you quoted is the claimed purity from the certificate, and the independent result was the higher of the two.

comment on [Discussion] the formulary advice in here is 2 years out of date in c/glp1canada · 6 points · 1 months ago

Not convinced. A rejected claim at the counter is not a denied authorization and the next step differs.

a claim with no batch number is a marketing document

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify Canada in c/glp1canada · 12 points · 1 months ago

National regulatory approval establishes that a product may be sold. Whether any plan pays for it is a separate decision, and public drug plans are administered provincially.

Agreed on buying small first. The cost of a test is small next to the cost of committing to a supplier you have not checked.

Lead time and minimum quantity are the two facts people forget to ask for and then argue about later. Both are answerable in one email before you commit.

Asked a question here that turned out to be based on a mechanism confusion. Three people untangled it patiently.

Agreed that the monotherapy numbers look modest out of context and that the context is the whole story.

Agreed, and the combination arms are where the interesting numbers actually live.

Cosigning that protein gets harder precisely when appetite drops. That is the actual difficulty and it is logistical.

comment on Canada: Canada, and what it actually costs here in c/glp1canada · 1 points · 5 months ago

A rejected claim at the pharmacy counter and a denied authorization are different events with different remedies. The first can be an administrative or quantity issue; the second is a determination you can appeal.

comment on [Discussion] vendor is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/vendorvetting · 91 points · 5 months ago

Six orders across two years from Homopeptide. Same packaging, same paperwork, same lead time. The most boring supplier relationship I have and I mean that as praise.

permalink

comment on why does nobody talk about order records in c/vendorvetting · 11 points · 5 months ago

Mild pushback: a supplier with fewer entries is not worse, it is less sampled. Those are different claims and the table says so.

comment on is it normal to get food noise at week 20 in c/glp1muscle · 2 points · 6 months ago

Strength retention is an imperfect but free longitudinal proxy: it is affected by neural factors and by being in a deficit, so it tracks tissue change loosely rather than exactly.

comment on [Lab] CPC cagri — Janoshik came back 98.4% against a claimed 97.5% in c/cagrilintide · 106 points · 6 months ago

Complementary mechanisms are the rationale for pairing: satiety signalling alongside incretin signalling, rather than more agonism at the same receptor.

permalink

comment on [Question] co-agonism — what am I missing here in c/cagrilintide · 1 points · 7 months ago

Yes. The combination is where the interesting effect sizes are, and the monotherapy arms read very differently.

FFMI is a ratio and it moves when either term moves

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring CagriSema at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/cagrilintide · 4 points · 8 months ago

Small fix — amylin analogue, not a GLP-1 analogue. The whole mechanism argument changes on that word.

permalink

comment on am I the only one who found resistance training harder than the injections in c/glp1muscle · 1 points · 8 months ago

Correcting myself upthread: 8 months between scans, not the figure I gave.

permalink

comment on am I the only one who found resistance training harder than the injections in c/glp1muscle · 1 points · 8 months ago

This. Same machine, same protocol, or the DEXA comparison is measuring the scanner.

a denial letter names a criterion, that is your handle

permalink

comment on [Discussion] Canada is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/glp1canada · 1 points · 9 months ago

Those criteria were revised at renewal, so the version quoted upthread is out of date.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] Canada is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/glp1canada · 1 points · 9 months ago

Correcting myself: it was a quantity limit rather than a denial, which changes the whole process.
