Overview — page 2 of 3

comment on the lyophilised question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/coldchain · 3 points · 6 months ago

This is the distinction that resolves most threads here — powder and solution are different problems.

Agreed, and a logger costs less than the vial you are worrying about.

the excursion that matters is the one after reconstitution

Correction: that is the combination programme, not the monotherapy readout. Different arms, different numbers.

Push back: the evidence base here is thin enough that a confident ranking against the established compounds is not supportable.

Switched pharmacies mid-titration and had to restart the ladder because the concentrations did not line up.

Independent purity data on this compound is sparse compared with the older molecules, simply because far fewer members have paid for testing.

Agreed, and the combination arms are where the interesting numbers actually live.

Correction: that threshold is your ICB’s, not a national one. They differ and they change by year.

Disagree.

This is why national advice does not work here. It is commissioned locally and it varies.

Which nation, and which ICB if you are in England?

comment on [Lab] split one vial across Janoshik and Medutest — 95.1% and 97.6% in c/coa · -25 points · 10 months ago

Cosigning. The batch identifier is load-bearing, and a certificate that cannot be tied to the vial in your hand is not about your vial.

comment on [Meta] proposal — a flair for NHS posts in c/glp1uk · 2 points · 10 months ago

Push back: a private prescription is a separate route, not a shortcut through the NHS queue.

Moved everything off the fridge door after reading a thread here and my temperature log immediately got boring.

LC-MS gives you identity; UV purity gives you a relative quantity.

Adding the bit that always gets missed: the lot on the vial has to match the lot on the page, or none of this applies to your material.

Did you ask for the batch-specific document, or is this the catalogue one?

Discharged at goal back to the GP, who would not continue it. Nobody had mentioned that this was how it ends.

UV at 214nm sees the peptide bond and picks up almost everything; at 280nm you are looking at aromatics only. Which wavelength the number came from is part of the number.

Compared prices across two neighbouring countries and found the difference was mostly pack size once I normalised it.

Are you comparing the same presentation, or different pack sizes?

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about MHRA is guesswork in c/glp1uk · 1 points · 1 year ago

Agreed — and keeping the letters with dates is what makes any later challenge possible.

Disagreeing with this line: that is the arrangement in one nation and the question is about another.

Correction: that stability figure covers the lyophilised powder, not the reconstituted solution. Different claim entirely.

Agreed. The ICB variation is the thing that makes national advice useless here.

permalink

comment on [PSA] cagrilintide is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/cagrilintide · 261 points · 1 year ago

Agreed — it is an amylin analogue and importing intuitions from the incretin boards produces confident nonsense.

Marketing authorisation is granted centrally for these products; reimbursement, pricing and prescribing criteria are national competences. Those are decided by different bodies with different processes.

Yes. The structure of the document matters at least as much as the number printed on it.

Ordered from the warehouse in the UK instead of origin and the transit went from a fortnight to 12 days. Entirely different proposition in August.

permalink

comment on three years of water content threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/coa · 518 points · 1 year ago

Not quite. Two labs with different gradients can resolve a close-eluting impurity differently and both be reporting honestly.

How many days in transit, and which month?

permalink

Regional stock changes the question rather than answering it: shorter lanes mean less exposure and fewer variables, which is why the warehouse question is worth asking before ordering in summer.

My first certificate had a compound name, a percentage and a logo. I thought that was normal. It is not, and now I know what to ask for.

Read the combination paper twice before saying anything here. The monotherapy and combination arms tell genuinely different stories.
