comment on three years of shipping threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/intlshipping · 37 points · 1 year ago

Where the time actually goes, which I got wrong for two years.

Total transit is first mile, international leg, customs clearance and last mile. I had been attributing everything to the international leg because that is the part with the exotic-sounding name.

When I finally logged the stages separately, the international leg was the most consistent part of the whole journey. The variance was in clearance and in the domestic delivery at my end — neither of which the supplier controls. That reframed how I read every lane report on this board, and it is why the table separates the stages.

Cosigning the domain check. Character by character, every time, and paste it rather than typing it.

Delayed gastric emptying is most pronounced early and attenuates with continued dosing, which is why the sulphur burps usually fades at a stable dose.

Correcting myself: 7 days, not the figure I posted upthread. I was counting from the order date rather than dispatch.

Same injection day each week, or has it drifted?

Same lane, four orders, 8 to 6 days, all four within a couple of days of the quote. That consistency is the actual finding.

Disagree. 2.4 is the top of the label, not the goal, and "everyone ends up there" is just survivorship in the posts you read.

Right, and the group-buy structure is the underrated risk here. One person holds everything and there is no recourse designed in.

Never name an individual. The sidebar rule exists because the cost of being wrong falls on a person and the benefit of being right falls on nobody in particular.

Disagree. That is a customs hold, not a carrier delay, and lumping them together makes the lane table wrong.

a lane with four reports is not yet a lane

comment on cloned site is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/scamalerts · 377 points · 2 years ago

Domain age, registrar and certificate issuance date are all public and take about a minute to check. A site claiming years of history on a months-old domain is the cheapest signal available.

check the domain character by character before you check anything else

The rigid outer with no rattle in it was the thing that told me most about that supplier, before I had tested anything.

Four observations is not a distribution. The lane tables here only became predictive once individual routes had a dozen or more reports behind them.

A quoted lead time is a commitment you can evaluate. Measuring quoted against actual across several orders tells you more about an operation than the raw speed does.

Cosigning. The appetite change and the scale change ran about three weeks apart for me too.

Cloned storefronts copy assets, layout and testimonial text. What they cannot easily copy is a batch-specific document that ties to a lot you can then have tested independently.

stalling at 1.0mg is information, not a verdict

Adding one thing to this: the appetite effect and the scale run on separate clocks, so both halves can be true at once.
