comment on three years of units threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/reconstitution · 144 points · 1 year ago
What concentration did you actually reconstitute at, rather than what did you intend to?
comment on genuine question about telehealth that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/compounding · 83 points · 1 year ago
Same view. If the intake asked you nothing, the intake was a formality and you should factor that in.
comment on [Question] Spain — has anyone got a straight answer on 503B in c/compounding · 6 points · 1 year ago
That is not what patient-specific means. It refers to the prescription, not to a customisation of the formula.
comment on the compounding question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/compounding · 162 points · 1 year ago
Nothing in this thread is medical advice, and the choice between arrangements is one for you and a prescriber who knows your history.
comment on the bacteriostatic water question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/reconstitution · 67 points · 1 year ago
The lyophilised cake displaces a small volume, so the true concentration is very slightly lower than the arithmetic suggests. It is a fraction of a percent and it is dwarfed by fill tolerance.
comment on units are the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/reconstitution · 600 points · 1 year ago
That only works if the fill weight is exactly the label weight, and it usually is not exactly anything.
comment on [Question] how do you actually verify special authorization in c/glp1canada · 29 points · 1 year ago
Formulary criteria are revised, and plan renewal is a natural point at which a previously refused request may succeed without anything about the applicant changing.
comment on the chargeback thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/cryptopay · 17 points · 1 year ago
How many confirmations does it show?
comment on does semaglutide actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/semaglutide · 97 points · 1 year ago
Agreed, and the bit people skip is that the ladder is a tolerance ladder. It is not a potency ranking.
comment on do units actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/reconstitution · 100 points · 1 year ago
do the arithmetic before you reconstitute, not while holding a syringe
comment on bacteriostatic water is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/reconstitution · 0 points · 1 year ago
What concentration did you actually reconstitute at, rather than what did you intend to?
This is the sentence that makes the rest unnecessary. Write it on the vial and the problem is gone.
comment on someone explain insulin syringe to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/reconstitution · 204 points · 1 year ago
Agreed — units are volume. Once that lands, the rest of the arithmetic is one division.
comment on the Canada thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/glp1canada · 6 points · 1 year ago
Quantity limits restrict how much may be dispensed in a period even where coverage exists. They are a distinct barrier and require a distinct request.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about reconstitution until somebody posts a number in c/reconstitution · -5 points · 1 year ago
Bacteriostatic water contains benzyl alcohol as a preservative, which is what makes repeated entry into the same vial reasonable. Plain sterile water has no preservative.
comment on [Results] 96 weeks, 40kg, and 2.4mg was the hard part in c/semaglutide · 0 points · 1 year ago
the scale is the least sensitive instrument you own
This is the part I would underline for anyone skimming. Everything else in the thread is downstream of it.
comment on [Discussion] the chargeback advice in here is 3 years out of date in c/cryptopay · 6 points · 1 year ago
ask which networks they actually accept before you order
comment on three years of Ozempic threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/semaglutide · 98 points · 1 year ago
That figure is the 68-week trial mean, not a weekly rate. Dividing it by the weeks gives you a number that does not mean anything.
comment on formulary — 11 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/glp1canada · 5 points · 1 year ago
say the province or the answers will be wrong
comment on formulary — 11 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/glp1canada · 10 points · 1 year ago
Same view — private and provincial plans are genuinely different processes with different appeal routes.
comment on [Question] semaglutide — what am I missing here in c/semaglutide · 1.5k points · 2 years ago
Weight change and appetite change are different endpoints on different timescales. Conflating them is where most of the confusion on this board starts.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about network until somebody posts a number in c/cryptopay · 86 points · 2 years ago
gas is not the supplier’s fee
comment on [Meta] the dead space rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/reconstitution · 56 points · 2 years ago
The lyophilised cake displaces a small volume, so the true concentration is very slightly lower than the arithmetic suggests. It is a fraction of a percent and it is dwarfed by fill tolerance.
comment on what changed for me between month 6 and month 10 in c/semaglutide · 15 points · 2 years ago
sema is weekly for a reason, the half-life does the smoothing
comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about reconstitution is guesswork in c/reconstitution · 33 points · 2 years ago
Pushback on the syringe advice: a U-100 barrel reads units of volume. Calling them "doses" is how the confusion starts.
comment on [Discussion] we are measuring mg/mL at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/reconstitution · 39 points · 2 years ago
bacteriostatic water has the preservative, sterile water does not
comment on small win: food noise stopped being a problem at week 62 in c/semaglutide · 267 points · 2 years ago
My stall was eleven weeks. Eleven. Then it moved again without me changing anything at all.
comment on the Netherlands: state board, and what it actually costs here in c/compounding · 48 points · 2 years ago
Push back: "compounded is fine because a pharmacy made it" skips every question this board exists to ask.
comment on genuine question about reconstitution that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/reconstitution · 1 points · 2 years ago
