does goal actually matter or is it forum lore at this point

Discussionbranch of 10 comments

Question in the title, detail here: does goal actually matter or is it forum lore at this point. Nobody noticed for months. Then several people noticed in the same fortnight, which was strange and quite nice. Why this board is text only, since new members ask every week. A photograph invites comparison on things…

Nothing on this board is medical advice, and rate, target and method are questions for somebody who knows your history.

Careful — that reads as advice about what someone else should do, and this board is for describing your own.

Did the clothes change before the number did for you too?

Small correction, kindly meant: that is a range rather than a regain. Weight moves day to day in everybody.

Agreed — measurements over photographs, every time, for anybody trying to actually track something.

Stopped reading the fastest posts here for a month and my mood improved considerably.

On the goal weight you set in week one.

You chose it with the least information you will ever have about how this feels, what is sustainable, and what your body does at different points. Revising it is not moving the goalposts; it is updating a prediction, which is what you are supposed to do with predictions.

Several of the longest-standing members here have revised theirs more than once, in both directions, and describe the revision as the point at which the whole thing became manageable. What the number should be is a conversation with somebody who knows your history — but that it is allowed to change is something this board can tell you.

What are you actually celebrating today? Genuine question.

About c/progresspics

Progress posts with no images, by design. Starting point, current point, timeframe, dose history, what changed besides the scale. Text-only removes the comparison trap, the body-shaming pile-on and the entire question of who owns a photo of your torso.

Before you read on

Several compounds discussed on GLP Research Hub are sold for research use only and are not approved for human use anywhere. Nothing here is medical advice and none of it is written by your clinician. If a post reads like an instruction, treat it as a description of what one stranger did.
