comment on [Announcement] c/labresults now requires the standard template in c/meta · 4 points · 5 days ago

Adopted with an amendment, announced with the reasoning. Thank you for writing actual text.

comment on [Speculation] is the food-noise effect central, peripheral, or both in c/glp1science · 1 points · 10 days ago

Read the primary paper after arguing about the summary for a fortnight.

Agreed — and it is why the central and peripheral stories are complementary rather than rival.

ledger_mod is right that it was procedural.

Agreed — and being harder on yourself than you would be on somebody else posting the same thing is the pattern here.

comment on [Discussion] we need a standard template or these posts are unsearchable in c/labresults · 15 points · 29 days ago

If the report gives a mass spectrum as well as UV purity, say so.

This is why the template has a batch field. Without it the result is about a vial nobody can identify.

comment on biased agonism: real, interesting, almost certainly irrelevant to your dose in c/glp1science · 45 points · 29 days ago

GIP receptor biology is genuinely unsettled — there is a live argument about agonism versus antagonism at the receptor — and the clinical results are robust regardless, which is an uncomfortable and interesting position.

Same view — strict evidence rules make this board slower and make the archive worth reading in three years.

comment on [Discussion] the archive-after-a-year policy: keep, change, or scrap in c/meta · 1 points · 1 months ago

Checked the sponsor disclosure because I assumed it would be vague.

Agreed — concrete wording or it is not a proposal.

What do you want from posting it — advice, or just to have it on the record?

How many separate lots does your series cover?

Push back: the ranking is not hiding anything. The formula is published and you can reproduce the ordering.

Agreed. The failures are the part that is missing from every other board, which is why this one matters.

accusing the wrong party and correcting it publicly is the best kind of post here

That service reports area percent by default. Worth stating, since the thread has been comparing it to a mass figure.

I would not post that as a finding. It is a single result and the template asks you to say so.

buy small first is the lesson that keeps being learned expensively

Feed position is a function of early votes and time. That structurally favours agreeable early answers over correct late ones, which is why sorting by controversial occasionally is worth the effort.

Citations welcome and expected here — this is the one board where "source?" is a compliment.

comment on [Lab] SSA BPC — Medutest came back 98.1% against a claimed 97.5% in c/labresults · 20 points · 6 months ago

Results here feed the vendor source pages, which is why the fields are fussy.

comment on [PSA] stopped is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/darkspot · 49 points · 7 months ago

Is this the first time, or a pattern you can see now?

Adding the thing that would have caught it earliest — buy small and test before committing.

comment on what changed for me between month 11 and month 17 in c/darkspot · 20 points · 7 months ago

The pattern in the money-loss posts, since there is one.

Almost none of them involve a documented supplier with an independent testing record. They involve an unfamiliar shop, a price that seemed good, a decision made in a hurry, and no small first order.

The procedural fix is the one this site keeps repeating: buy small from anybody new, ask for a batch-specific document before paying, test what arrives, and only then commit. It is boring, it costs a small order, and it would have prevented most of what is written on this board. Where a name has nothing verifiable on file, that is a statement about the evidence available rather than about anyone’s conduct — and keeping that distinction is why these reports stay useful.

Left up and flaired Proposal — it has replacement wording, which is what this board asks for.

permalink

comment on [PSA] what went wrong is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/darkspot · 53 points · 9 months ago

Where a supplier has no independent testing on file, that is a statement about the evidence and not about their conduct. Saying it the second way is how this board would stop being useful.

permalink

Agreed — somebody is at exactly the point you were at, reading this, and it will land differently for them than any success story.

Sent a vial in specifically to check a supplier’s claim after a good experience. It matched. Boring result, worth logging.

permalink

comment on the failure question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/darkspot · 79 points · 11 months ago

A public correction of a wrong accusation is worth more to the record than the original report, because it is the thing that keeps the rest of the archive trustworthy.

Not convinced by the linearity assumption. Dose-response in this class is not linear and the trials show it.
