The template is vendor, compound, batch, service, claim, result, and who paid. Every one of those fields exists because a result missing it has been argued about here before.

Before the sample result means anything, the instrument has to be shown to be fit that day: replicate injections with an acceptable RSD on area, a tailing factor inside limits, adequate plate count, and a resolution check between the pair you care about.

None of that is exotic and all of it is routine in a laboratory that reports for a living. Its absence does not mean a number is wrong; it means the number is unanchored, and unanchored numbers should not be quoted to two decimal places on this board.

Correcting my own comment: the shortage status changed in the interim, so the arrangement I described no longer applies.

Inter-lab variance on this assay runs roughly a point either way, driven mostly by gradient and integration. Two results inside that band agree; they do not disagree quietly.

Cosigning the wavelength point. Half the disagreements in this board are two people looking at different detectors.

Why "compounded" is not "generic", written out because the confusion is constant.

A generic is an approved product demonstrated to be bioequivalent to a reference. A compounded preparation is made for a patient or, in the case of an outsourcing facility, under a different regulatory route entirely. It carries no equivalence claim and it is not required to demonstrate one.

That is not a quality judgement. Plenty of compounded preparations are made carefully in facilities with real testing programmes. It is a statement about what has and has not been established, and the difference matters when people assume the two are interchangeable.

What was the claim on the certificate you are comparing against?

Mass spectrometry answers identity. UV purity answers relative quantity under the run conditions. A document with one and not the other is answering half the question, and the half it answers should be stated.

Batch number and date of analysis?

Stopped for financial reasons and regained most of it. Not a moral story, just a budget and a documented outcome.

Contemporaneous notes matter most in exactly the situations where people are least inclined to write them. Memory reorganises a bad fortnight into a tidier story with a clearer villain.

That is area percent, not mass percent. The trace cannot give you the second one.

KP BPC, batch matched the paperwork, Medutest came back 99.4% against a claimed 99.0%. Paid for it myself, posting it because the log is only worth anything if people do.

What did the intake actually ask you?

you cannot report to two decimals off that baseline

UV response is not uniform across species. At 214nm you are looking at the peptide bond, which is why it is the working wavelength for this class; at 280nm you only see tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylalanine.

Carryover from a previous high-concentration injection looks exactly like a small impurity. The blank injection is four minutes and it removes the ambiguity entirely.
