comment on [Formulary] provincial differences, mapped, with dates in c/glp1canada · 12 points · 1 days ago

Push back: approval by the national regulator says nothing about whether any plan will pay.

comment on [Seizure] letter arrived, no prosecution, here is exactly what it said in c/customs · 5 points · 2 days ago

Declared value and product description are chosen by the shipper. Asking what they use is a legitimate pre-order question and the answer tells you how routine this is for them.

consistency across lots beats one spectacular result

comment on [Discussion] the Ontario answer is not the Alberta answer in c/glp1canada · 1 points · 6 days ago

Same view — private and provincial plans are genuinely different processes with different appeal routes.

comment on [Question] protein target in g/kg — of current weight or goal weight in c/glp1muscle · 2 points · 6 days ago

I would not change the programme on the strength of one scan. The measurement error is larger than the effect you are reacting to.

comment on same batch number showing up at two unrelated vendors. that is not a coincidence in c/vendorvetting · 0 points · 7 days ago

The wider-market rows in the directory carry a band and a report count and nothing else, deliberately.

Adding the practical version: ask for lead time, minimum quantity and the batch record in the same message. Three answers, one email.

comment on [Private Plan] my plan added a lifetime maximum halfway through my year in c/glp1canada · 1 points · 8 days ago

Formulary criteria are revised, and plan renewal is a natural point at which a previously refused request may succeed without anything about the applicant changing.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] FFMI not weight, or you will celebrate losing muscle in c/glp1muscle · 5 points · 9 days ago

Correction: those scans are from different machines, and the difference you are describing is within the measurement error.

permalink

comment on [Seizure] third one in two years. the pattern is the carrier, not the country. in c/customs · 2 points · 10 days ago

declared value and description are the shipper’s decisions, ask what they use

Agreed — read the notice before deciding what has happened. Most of the panic here is misclassification.

comment on [Data] BIA vs DEXA on the same day, 6% apart, pick a method and stay with it in c/glp1muscle · 6 points · 11 days ago

Correcting myself upthread: 4 months between scans, not the figure I gave.

comment on [Data] BIA vs DEXA on the same day, 6% apart, pick a method and stay with it in c/glp1muscle · 19 points · 12 days ago

Small fix — that is fat-free mass, not muscle mass. The scan cannot separate them the way the post assumes.

grip strength and lift numbers are cheap longitudinal markers

That result is an area percent from an unspecified method, which is not the same as the identity confirmation being discussed.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] protein is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/glp1muscle · 4 points · 1 months ago

Yes. Nobody here is prescribing training or nutrition and the good posts say so.

permalink

comment on [Needs Source] "lab tested" with no lab named is not a claim in c/vendorvetting · 70 points · 1 months ago

Inter-lab variance on this assay runs a point or two either way. Two services disagreeing by that much is agreement, not a discrepancy, and treating it otherwise starts pointless arguments.

permalink

comment on STEP 1 was -14.9% average and i keep having to remind myself average means average in c/semaglutide · 17 points · 1 months ago

Did protein intake change in the same window?

Right, and the timescale is the bit that keeps getting lost. Judge a step at a month, not at a weekend.

permalink

comment on small win: titration stopped being a problem at week 58 in c/semaglutide · 56 points · 1 months ago

Genuine question — is the appetite effect still there, or is it just the scale that has paused?

Disagree with this specific line. A pause at 0.25mg is not evidence that 0.25mg has stopped working.

DEXA has a meaningful coefficient of variation, and it differs between machines and protocols. Comparing scans from different clinics adds a systematic offset that is invisible on the report.

Tracked grip strength and three lifts monthly. Cheaper than scanning and directionally the same answer.

Fixing my own comment above: I said 18 orders and it is 35. The pattern is the same, the count was wrong.

permalink

comment on [Lab] split one vial across Janoshik and Medutest — 98.1% and 98.9% in c/vendorvetting · 0 points · 4 months ago

Correction: that supplier is in the documented twenty with a source page, not in the wider-market table. Different evidence bases entirely.

This. Ask for the batch record. The ones who send it inside a day have told you more than any review could.

Yes.

Agreed — and the naming problem is worse than most people here realise.

I would separate documentation from logistics. A supplier can be excellent at one and ordinary at the other, and averaging them hides it.

permalink

comment on genuine question about vendor that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/vendorvetting · 190 points · 7 months ago

Yes. Spread across lots is the number that tells you about the process. A single high result tells you about a vial.

A hold, a request for information and a seizure are distinct administrative events. Each has its own process and deadlines, and the notice itself states which one you have.
