Why the monthly pricing tracker works, and the rule that makes it work.

Members post the pharmacy, the product, the month and the price they actually paid — not an advertised offer, not a first-month discount. No links of any kind are permitted, which removes the entire incentive to post anything other than what happened.

The result is that the spread between pharmacies in a given month is visible, and it is consistently larger than people expect. That single table has saved members here more money than every other thread on the board combined, and it survives only because the no-links rule is enforced without exception.

The failure modes I have actually seen posted here, in order of frequency.

One: reconstituting at a different volume than intended and not writing it down, so the next draw is based on a remembered concentration. Two: treating units as a dose rather than a volume, which breaks the moment the concentration changes. Three: assuming a syringe is U-100 when it is not.

All three are solved by the same two habits — do the arithmetic before the water goes in, and write the result on the glass. Neither costs anything and between them they cover almost every question this board gets.

Why "more water" keeps confusing people, including me for a month.

The vial contains a fixed amount of peptide. Water changes nothing about that amount. What it changes is concentration, and concentration is the divisor between the dose you want and the volume you draw.

So doubling the water halves the concentration and doubles the units for the same dose. Nothing is diluted in any sense that matters; you are simply reading a bigger number off the same barrel. Pick the water volume that puts your usual dose on a whole number of units and life gets easier.

Right, and reading the actual supply notice rather than the coverage of it saves a fortnight of speculation.

Correction: that gives 20 units, not what you have written. 15mg into 2mL is 7.5mg/mL and the division follows from there.

Careful — that guidance is several years old and the rules where you are have moved since.

Adding the standing caveat — nothing here is legal advice and this one genuinely warrants somebody qualified.

Specialist services in England are commissioned to deliver a defined intervention. Reaching goal is a successful outcome and it typically ends with discharge back to primary care. Whether prescribing continues after that is a local decision that varies, and plenty of members here have discovered it at the point of discharge rather than at the start.

The useful thing to do is ask early: what happens when I finish, and does prescribing continue in primary care in this area. Ask it in writing, keep the answer, and you will at least know which conversation you are heading for.

A private prescription is an independent route: it does not affect NHS list position, and it is not a step in the same pathway.
